Whats the word in the Mississippi special election

Does anyone have any idea what is likely to happen? Is it currently too close to call? I saw that about 25% of hte population in Mississippi's first is black, so that'll help the democrat.

I know Childers won the runoff vote by around 3%. But I don't know if that translates into a victory tomorrow.

If the GOP can't hold onto seats in Mississippi and Louisiana it is time to pack it up.

1. I live in Memphis just to the north of MS 1st district.

From what I can understand is that the people have election fatigue. They needed three elections to get this far. The special election from a month or so ago the Democrat (Childers) just missed having to have a runoff by less then 1%. He had something like 49.4%. If he had managed to get 50.1 then there would not have been a runoff. The republican had some lesser amount ( about 46%). A couple of independents had the rest. Thus the runoff.

I think it will all depend on who has the best Get out the vote organization.

But the real surprise is that the democrat has a even chance in this district after over 1 million each has been spent on this campaign. It has been a very ugly campaign with a lot of mud from both sides especially the national committees.
