So Jenna Bush married her fiance Henry yesterday. There are threads wishing them well.
I wish them better than the fate that her father premeditatedly planned for others. In fact they already have that.

How many people lost their fiance to the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars? Their beloveds coming home in a box? How many marriages never happened because the returning soldiers came home severely injured, have PTSD or even committed suicide? How many just wait and hope that their loved ones who are at war stay safe? Their hearts in their throats every time the phone rings?

Yes, Jenna and Henry, you are already ahead of the game, in your safe, snug, smug, insulated world. Congratulations.

Everything will be handed to them. They will never worry about what would happen to them and their children if they were to lose their jobs.

Jenna is no longer a little girl. She is a woman now, a woman that through her silence, condones what her father has done to the people of my county and other countries whose people did NOTHING to any American.

11. You're right. She is a 26 year old woman. The Reagan kids knew how rotten their father was
and detached from him, publicly. Patti even took her mother's maiden name to separate herself.

family, I wonder if Jenna is willing to submit to his authority like most good Christian RW wives do?

39. There is a difference. She's a member of the BFEE. Henry is going to have to be the one
who submits.

BTW.... I honestly don't believe that they are Christians.

16. He sure does. A couple of very self-indulged people, imho.
While it's not really that unusual to see similarities in the physiognomies of married couples, those two are particularly noteworthy, imho. It's hard to think of a LESS interesting pair of human beings.

7. That's probably why they wedding was so hush hush-* Co didn't want to deal with the criticism
of such a festive occasion while soldiers are dying in a bullshit war THEY-the BFEE-made happen all for the sake of greed.

Or that people are losing their homes and jobs and are in desperate straits because THEY-the BFEE-deliberately screwed up the economy all for the sake of greed.

No worries for the BFEE, right?!

It's all just more evidence that that evil family doesn't give a flying fuck about the people of this country.

Yep, "let them eat cake". :grr:

9. Media Seems to Be Ignoring the Event
Or relegating it to beneath the fold. For those of us old enough to remember weddings of other children of presidents' this seems really odd. Maybe the media was more focused on this type of event 30 or 40 years ago, but it's hard to believe that a press fixated on Brit or Paris 24/7 would ignore a celebrity wedding - unless they knew that the ratings would totally suck.

Generational tides do change, this one may be changing. Her father is such an obvious idiot, she admires Chelsie Clinton, there seems to be a strain of environmentalism emerging with this couple. Children rebel there are some early signs here.

Burn injuries can come back with complications months or years after the fact, and that guy got nailed by the odds right when it looked like he was pulling through.

I'm pretty sure they were still together at that point.

'Miracle Marine' dies after beating odds

(CNN) -- A Marine who survived being burned over more than 95 percent of his body in Iraq and established a charity to help burned children has died, the military has announced.
art.german.ap.jpg

Marine Sgt. Merlin German, seen in May 2007, died last month of complications after surgery.

Sgt. Merlin German was 22.

He was severely wounded February 21, 2005, en route to Camp Ramadi when his Humvee hit a roadside bomb.

He was not expected to survive, but he was transported to Germany and then to Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas, which has the U.S. military's top burns unit.

He spent nine months in intensive care and underwent more than 100 operations.

German moved out of the hospital into his own home after 17 months of treatment.

RIP Sgt. German

24. or 25-year-old Kelly Supanchick
Ex-Navy medic convicted of killing estranged wife in Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. (Map, News) - An ex-Navy medic who claimed he was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder has been convicted of aggravated murder in the shotgun slaying of his estranged wife three years ago.

A Lane County jury deliberated just 45 minutes on Friday before convicting 30-year-old Tyke Thomas Supanchick for the death of 25-year-old Kelly Supanchick in December 2005.

The jury rejected Supanchick's claim that intensive military training and post-traumatic stress suffered while serving at the Pentagon after the September 11 terrorist attack led to the killing.

His wife was shot four times with a shotgun as she sat on a bed in her home with her hands bound in front of her.

U.S. army vet convicted of mutilation murder of wife

FORT LEWIS, Wash. - A U.S. army Iraq War veteran was convicted Saturday of murdering and mutilating his teenaged wife, a Fort Lewis spokesman said.

An army jury found Spc. Brandon Bare, 20, of Wilkesboro, N.C., guilty of premeditated murder and two counts of indecent acts for hacking his wife to death with a meat cleaver and desecrating her corpse.

After a five-day court martial, the jury deliberated about four hours Friday night before reaching the verdict shortly after midnight, said Fort Lewis spokesman Joseph Piek.

The same jury of five officers and three non-commissioned officers began considering Bare's sentence. He faces life in prison.

Nabila Bare, 18, had been stabbed at least 71 times when she was found July 12, 2005, in the couple's kitchen...

I saw an interview with the owner of the largest florist in Waco - when asked if she had been approached for any of the work she said she didn't know whether to say "no" or "hell no." And any businesses in Crawford? Forget it! They're just selling their souvenir mugs to the tourists.
