Since when is American Idol "news" on AP radio?
I've wondered about this for a while.

I'm sitting here, listening to Hartmann on KPHX Phoenix (NovaM) and I'm hearing about American Idol ON THE NEWS.

Is this what it's come to? America Idol is now worthy of airtime on syndicated radio news shows?

Yikes.

1. Even worse, why is Bill Press talking about it daily on Air America?
Or at least he's on XM's leftie channel, which is partially Air America. I listen to that channel to get away from American Idol and NASCAR.

2. I've wondered that, too. And why the hell are my local news stations covering it?
Who the fuck cares about American Idol? Let me say it one more time, louder, just to make myself feel better.

WHO THE FUCK CARES ABOUT AMERICAN IDOL?

My apologies to American Idol fans. I don't mind the show's existence and its fans caring about it, but why HELL is it on the news?

3. If you think that's bad ...
try living in one of the finalists' hometowns ... especially with him holding a free concert tomorrow about two blocks from where I work.

I have made every effort to avoid American Idol (and all the other "reality shows" on TV) and now I find it's coming to my doorstep. I wish the contestant all the best, but - damn, people - do we really need round-the-clock coverage that's nothing more than promotional hype?
