Laura and Jenna have written a picture book and were here in our city for a book signing event last night.

We were there to welcome them.




300 Bush groupies stood in line for more than an hour for a chance to share oxygen with the Bush ladies. They each had to walk right past us as they went in the door.









There were messages written in chalk on the sidewalk.




One very interesting thing we noticed is that the Bush groupies were very quiet. Not at all enthused. Dressed up ih skirts and high heels, like they were going to church. But they stood there in silence and not only didn't say much to us, but they didn't speak to each other either. Stepford People. :scared:

and most tried to avoid it. Which is great, since they did try to pretend to ignore us.

We heard about some protesters who go to recruiting offices and write the names of the dead soldiers every week in chalk in front of the door. Rain washes the chalk off eventually. But no one going in the door will step on the names.

(Just an interesting idea, don't you think?)

As soon as I got there, I saw a cameraman taking crowd shots and I walked over to see if I could get in the picture. I was wearing my IMPEACH CHENEY hat and a t-shirt that says I HAVE A DREAM under a picture of Bush and Cheney behind bars. So I was hoping to get into the picture, or at least maybe my hat.

There was a little boy the cameraman was focusing on and he was holding Laura and Jenna's book upside down. His dad told him to turn the book around. And I said "Why? That's how the president would read it." Dad gave me a nasty look and the cameraman started laughing and had to put down his camera. So I screwed up my chance to be on film.

One of the cops (who was a major asshole) laughed at us and said there was no way we would get anywhere near the ladies where they could see our signs. We said we weren't there to see them, we were there to communicate with the groupies standing in line to see them. And I think a couple of them flinched. LOL

There were also several people who walked by who were just walking down the sidewalk, not attending the event, who gave us a thumbs up. One guy stopped, read our signs and clapped.

I wonder how many of the Bush groupies in pics 2 & 3 are paid plants or line-fillers. There can't be that many people left in this country who would, of their own free will, publicly announce their support for anything Bush by standing in line to meet Pickles and Ms. Too Important to Enlist and Support Daddy's War, can there??? This isn't like an anonymous approval rating poll where the 25%'ers get to hide under their rocks and cast a vote. These people are showing their faces in public while standing their like so many other props in so many other Bush Cabal staged photo op's. I'd be curious to see photos of the people "waiting in line" from a few different stops immediately before and after this one on the book tour. I bet we'd see a bunch of repeats in each region they visit.
