Do you pay income tax?
Do you care how the gov't spends your money?

There are people who are hungry in our country.

There are people who are homeless in our country.

There are people who lack medical care in our country.

There are people who are hurting in so many ways in our country.

Yet human needs programs to help these hurting people keep getting their budget's slashed.

Meanwhile billions are given to kill & maim people in Iraq because of a sociopath's lies. Blowing up frogs wasn't enough for him.

If you would rather see your taxes go to human needs programs instead of that sociopath's killing spree, please call your Senators & Representative & tell them to rein in the madness and do what's right.

You can call them toll-free @ 1-877-851-6437 or 1-800-828-0498.

Please, while you have them on the phone, also tell them to impeach.

3. Cut the military industrial complex down to something sane. End the drug war. Get out of Iraq.
Stop blowing billions prosecuting and incarcerating millions of non-violent offenders over "crimes" involving consensual adult behavior. Legalize and Tax marijuana. Turn off the corporate welfare spigot.

Then-

Fund a SPHC system. Fix our infrastructure. Fix Social Security. Get a social safety net worthy of a nation as prosperous as ours. Oh, and fund science, R&D into things like stem cells and alternative fuels, and yes, NASA.

That's my wish list, as April 15 draws near. But as always, we're paying for the same old B.S.

4. But then the country will be over-run by unemployed Pentagon zombies
...unemployed Pentagon zombies with many guns! :scared:

I agree though. The Pentagon is the most bloated governmental agency in history and needs to be pared down to a manageable size. It's become a budgetary black hole, consuming all money in it's path, never making any attempt to curb it's massive appetite. In the "guns or butter" debate guns have always won in our country. It's time to reverse that, and damned soon.

12. No shit. The right wing likes to bitch about "welfare", as if any of their tax $$$ are really going
to bon-bons for "welfare queens". The real welfare queens are defense contractors, and while we have subsidized an industry that produces nothing any consumer in their sane mind would ever want (much less be able to buy) ---i.e. cluster bombs--- we're getting our asses waxed by countries that actually make products people BUY, USE and ENJOY.

6. This year--
--we will have to cough up $1800.00 for federal. Couldn't use the oldest boy as a deduction, because he earned too much from his grad school stipend. Will also have to pay tuition for the younger one, send $$ to my mom who is in a nursing home, get a new furnace, etc. *sigh*

8. Of course, I pay more taxes to the feds each year than a family of four living just above the
poverty line earns! The only way I can stomach it is to assume that all of my money goes to non-military programs and that all of my rich, GOP brother-in-law's goes for war.

11. YES, dammit! I spend most of March doing tax returns, thanks
to my hubby's medical practice and trusts left by my parents. And it pisses me off greatly that the taxes we pay go to support warmongering and mercenaries
and corporate cronies of Bush/Cheney, while kids in this country go without medical/dental care; Katrina survivors are still without homes; the country is no safer from another 9/11 attack now than it was 6 years ago...on and on ad infinitum.

BLAH! :puke:

13. Amen friend.
It pains me greatly my tax dollars are spent more on destructive efforts instead of anything constuctive as you mention.
