Has she endorsed? I don't blame her for time off, I just haven't heard from for quite a while.

1. She thinks she can beat Nancy Pelosi so she's running for congress...
last I heard. Maybe reality hit and she went home.

So discussing her campaign violates DU rules.

29. They are NOT secretly working for the Repukes.
They are secretly working for the same people that the Repukes work for.

Dennis Kucinich does NOT work for those people.

John Edwards might not work for those same people.

Obama possibly works for those people, but I hope not.

The Clintons definately work for those people.

30. Good point... And besides Cindy is the mother of all mothers.
She had the audacity to ask what we were fighting for and to ask periodically, because the emphasis changed. I did not realize that her son Casy who was killed in this illigal war had gone into this war to be a champlain, but instead ended up fighting, and then being killed. We love you Cindy.

Robert Greenwald (who does do good work) Is calling on the 3 major presidential candidates to call for the resignation of Condileeza Rice because, while National Security Advisor, she chaired the torture meetings which included Dick Cheney and approved by George Bush.

We also know according to a WaPo story on December 8th that Nancy Pelosi was briefed on torture while serving on the House Intelligence Committee and it was reported that those in attendance at the briefing called for harsher methods.

I call on Nancy Pelosi to resign, also, and if the Democratic Party had any integrity, they would join me.

Cindy"

REGION: Anti-war activist speaks at Cal State San Marcos
By GARY WARTH - Staff Writer | Thursday, April 17, 2008 10:32 PM PDT ∞

SAN MARCOS ---- Cindy Sheehan has been many things. A peace activist. An outspoken critic of the Bush administration. A candidate for Congress.

But on Thursday night at Cal State San Marcos, where she spoke to about 250 people, Sheehan reminded the audience of the one role she cannot escape: Grieving mother.

"He wanted to be a chaplain's assistant," she said about her son, Casey, who joined the Army in 2000 to get an education. "I didn't want him to join. He was my first child. He would be the first child leaving the nest."

Sheehan said she cried every night for two weeks after he left. On the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, she said she had a premonition.

"I don't know if I had a mother's intuition, but I somehow knew that Sept. 11 would be the cause of my son's death."

Four years after her son's death in Iraq, Sheehan still is visibly shaken talking about it. She revisited the painful subject again because it is forever intertwined with her transformation from homemaker to internationally known activist

After her son's death, Sheehan said, she wore a T-shirt with a picture of his face on the front, and when she told people he had died in the war, some people asked, "What war?"

Such upsetting encounters fueled a growing desire in Sheehan to make people think about the war, she said. A tipping point came one day while she was at home and saw President Bush say that families of those lost in Iraq should know they died for a noble cause.

Sheehan said she waited for a reporter to ask, "What noble cause?" When none came, she became determined to ask the president himself.

23. I met Cindy last night at CSUSM...
Her speach and Q/A was excellent. I didn't hear one person in the audience that was in opposition to what she had to offer. "Police" came early and set up a "protest" area for anyone that wanted to stand up against Cindy, and yet there was not one person there the entire time. The room was filled with Impeach Cheney First Then Bush and a multitude of peace shirts.

She mentioned that Pelosi has $1.6million so far for the election and she has "well, a lot less"; and pointed out that Pelosi has the majority of her contributions from big pharma, mortgage brokers, and security... all war profiteering companies. Cindy, on the other hand, mentioned that the majority of her donations came from the average citizen and averages $50-60/donation.

Sheehan did go into detail about her political stance and I think I would agree with her that I don't want to say I'm Democrat or Republican because they are both propping up the war machine. What we need is a normal person like me and you that believes in peace and a true democracy because right now we're closer to a fascist society than a democratic society. If it weren't for activists, such as Cindy Sheehan, then we would be in a fascist society today.

What an inspiration to hear her testimony and determination to get the message out about our corrupt regime. It is always great to hear someone talk from the heart about how they truly feel. Who wouldn't be grieving after their son was murdered. She mentioned how people refer to those troops that have died in this war as soldiers that have "fallen" or are "lost" and feels very strongly against that. If her son had fallen, she "would have picked him up," and if her son was lost, she'd "be over there right now looking for him." I have to say that if I were in her boots, I would have the same feelings running through me and would most definitely be looking for closure to an illegal war.

Now, I must brag and post my picture of Cindy and me last night. I was first in line and first to get my picture with her. :)

As the CSI television shows like to obscure with their fictional technology, you only have so much information in your pixels, but there are a lot of tools in Photoshop. You can adjust the contrast and lightness and even the hue and saturation so that your faces will be more visible. There is also a tool for adjusting backlighting. There is only so much you can do, but I think even just a little adjustment to the contrast and lightness (they're in the Enhance menu in Photoshop Elements) will make a big difference.

I'll give Cindy the benefit of the doubt because Cindy probably didn't know who the guy wanting the picture was.

Pelosi knows that Bush is a war criminal and poses with him often and even aids and abets his agenda.
"He's a lovely man" or something like that.

33. She Just Spoke At A Big Meeting Last Night
Activist seeks to unseat Pelosi
By Angela Lau
UNION-TRIBUNE STAFF WRITER
April 18, 2008

SAN MARCOS – Disillusioned but not discouraged, peace activist turned congressional candidate Cindy Sheehan last night took her fight against the Iraq war and the Washington establishment to Cal State San Marcos, where she received a standing ovation.

Congressional candidate Cindy Sheehan spoke yesterday at Cal State San Marcos in an auditorium crammed with 230 students, faculty and supporters. Sheehan urged them to make America a better place. Sheehan, the mother of Army Spc. Casey Sheehan, who was killed in an ambush in Baghdad in 2004, spoke to a packed auditorium of 230 students, faculty and supporters. She urged them to make the country a better place.

“We need everybody working together,” Sheehan said as the audience applauded, cheered and muttered approval of her remarks.

Last night's two-hour event was organized by the university's Women's Studies Program, with support from 12 other programs and departments. Many peace activists, including the San Diego chapter of Veterans for Peace, were in the audience to support her.

43. She probably won't get on the ballot
if they require many signatures to get on the ballot in California. Cindy and her followers don't believe in loyalty or compromise or working for the greater good so they'll have a hard time staying together long enough to run a petition drive. Even if she does get on the ballot, Cindy will probably quit when somebody calls her a name or she'll wander off on some other mission. Whatever gets her the most attention she'll do.
