12. Are you an idiot? You must be a fucking idiot.
Edited on Thu Apr-17-08 05:24 AM by tom_paine
Or you forgot your sarcasm tag. I don't care if you're for Clinton or Obama or neither or both.

That "debate" was a Klown Karnival, a circus of bells, whistles, nonsense, calliope music, and Gibson and Stephanopoulous as clowns clowns CLOWNS!

Five minutes on the issues, 45 minutes of blather and nonsense and questions that would have embarassed my five-year old nephew playing "news anchor".

But hey, the Bushies loved it! David Brooks gave ABC an 'A' for their Klown Performace, but we already know he's a fucking idiot.

Sorry, Lirwin, but at this late date I have no patience for the fucking Klown Kollege the Toady Media has become.

Please tell me you're kidding.

2. Here's my email
Mr. Salinger,

I understand that you head election coverage for ABC News. I hope you are ashamed of your network's performance tonight. Mr. Jennings is no doubt rolling in his grave. I would direct you to your comment page where at this time there are over 9500 comments. I haven't bothered to read but a fraction yet I haven't found one positive thing said about tonight. You may also take special note of the fact that the Ayers question was planted by Sean Hannity today. The Foxification of ABC News is just shameful. This is easily comparable to the performance of 60 Minutes in their coverage of the tobacco whistle blower.

I think Mr. Gibson and Mr. Stephanopolous owe the candidates and your viewers a sincere apology. You may also remind Mr. Gibson that only 3.5% of Americans make over 200K per year. Maybe not in his neighborhood but in the rest of the country.

Sincerely,

7. Oh, it's not just that question. . .the video of the woman asking about
Edited on Thu Apr-17-08 04:12 AM by kevinbgoode
the flag lapel pin? She was featured in a New York Times story on April 6, had another picture in the paper on April 3, I believe, was part of a story in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution about the same time as well. It appears that ABC didn't walk around soliciting questions - doesn't it seem coincidental that they chose a question from a woman who had been receiving news coverage for the same kind of remarks?

Here is the part from the newspaper article:

Countdown 2008: ROAD TO THE WHITE HOUSE

Obama foes, they want to explain

By Paul Vitello
New York Times

Published on: 04/06/08

Latrobe, Pa. - Ask who she might vote for in the upcoming presidential primary election and Nash McCabe, 52, seems almost relieved to be able to unpack the dossier she's been collecting in her head.

It is not about whom she likes, but more a bill of particulars about why she cannot vote for Sen. Barack Obama.

"How can I vote for a president who won't wear a flag pin?" McCabe, a recently unemployed clerk typist, said in a booth at the Valley Dairy luncheonette in this quiet, tiny city in western Pennsylvania.

Obama has said patriotism is about ideas, not flag pins.

"I watch him on TV," McCabe said. "I keep looking for that lapel pin."

I'd like to know how they managed to "find" McCabe. . .*sarcasm*

We have truly fallen down the rabbit hole.

14. You know how they "found" McCabe. The Bushies sent their lazy asses to her
Edited on Thu Apr-17-08 05:26 AM by tom_paine
and because they are Lazy Klowns, they took what they were given and ran with it, like they always do. Beats workin' for a living, I imagine.

I remember in 1998 or so, hearing Tim KlownRussert gushing praise the many e-mails that the RNC sent him with his material for the day.

Now, that was before I realized just what the hell was going on in our soon-to-be-unfree-Empire, but it sure made me startle at the time.

Now, of course, I understand: Russert, ABC and the rest of the Klown Toady Media are part and parcel and appendage to the Bushies, almost as bad as FOX.

No matter whether one supports Clinton, Obama, both, or neither, that much is clear and it was certainly on display.

The Toady Media has been and will continue to be a 24/7 anti-Democratic Party advertisement. It sure was blatantly on display last night!

Here's what I wrote:

I am appalled at the spectacle that ABC presented as a debate between Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama. Flag pins??? Guilt by association??? Are you kidding me?

I care as much about that as I do about Brittany and Paris; in other words: I. Do. Not. Care.

Know what I care about?

Iraq.

Afghanistan.

Gas prices.

Home foreclosures.

Food prices.

The homeless.

The veterans.

The HOMELESS veterans.

Health care.

The obscenely high cost of health insurance.

And you bring me FLAG PINS AND GUILT BY ASSOCIATION???

Just HOW dumb and uninformed do you think We The People of the United States of America are?

Disgusting.

Really.

And having the moderators ask questions posed by RIGHT WING HOSTS????

You should be ashamed.

9. Thanks. My comment to ABC...
Kindly bring back the League of Women Voters to moderate the debates among presidential candidates. They always did a great job, were impartial, intelligent, and were respected.

Our nation is in crisis, and you, the mainstream media, ought to hang your heads in shame for trivializing the issues surrounding the election of the next person to sit in the White House.

Hekate
