1. Woke up at 3:30 this morning to a thunderclap that shook the house

and the tornado sirens were going off. Weatherman said that rotation had been detected by radar and it apparently passed very close to my house, but no reports of funnel clouds or touchdowns. Had a little rain and some reports of hail, but in 30 minutes it had all moved out of the area.

BTW, I am in west central Arkansas.

2. Report from Fayetteville, AR ..

THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THAT SWEPT ACROSS EASTERN OKLAHOMA
AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS HAVE MOVED
EAST OF THE AREA.

WEST TO NORTHWEST WINDS WILL GUST TO AROUND 3O MPH TODAY RESULTING
IN AN INCREASED FIRE DANGER ACROSS THE REGION AS DRY AIR ALSO
FILTERS INTO THE REGION IN THE WAKE OF THE DEPARTING STORM SYSTEM.
THE FIRE DANGER WILL IMPROVE THIS EVENING AS THE WINDS DIMINISH AND
THE RELATIVE HUMIDITIES INCREASE.

Tornado watches were cancelled about 6AM this morning.

6. I tell you... I'm dreading the "prime time" tornado season

I have never seen soo many tornados hitting during winter -- this is very very unusual...

I'm not in tornado alley, but we've had a few hit in northeast pa over the years...

7. St Louis had a nasty storm around 8AM

but it blew over pretty quickly, no damage reports.
