Man Accidentally Shoots Himself in the Groin
kndo.com

YAKIMA, Wash. -- A 20-year-old man accidentally shot himself in the groin early Sunday morning. It happened on the 700 block of North 24th avenue. Police say the man was trying to conceal a double barrel shotgun in the front of his pants and accidentally fired it two times.

The gun was found at the home where the shooting took place. They also found a second stolen firearm.

Hospital staff says his injuries are not life-threatening.

Neighbors we spoke to say police are usually seen at the house at least three times a month. They suspect there is gang activity taking place inside. They didn't want to speak on camera out of fear for their safety.

Yes, I'm evil to laugh - but sometimes the STUPIDITY just makes me giggle.

6. I was going to ask, how do you fit a double barreled shotgun in your pants?
Answer: Clearly, you don't!

7. Well two reasons
1) You are a complete dumbass ignoring not just basic gun safety but basic common sense.

2) Depends on the configuration of the triggers - some have two very close together, others have one trigger with an automatic selector switch or SST which if the gun gets snagged in undies etc and you start yanking it around sharply (for example because you just shot yourself the first time) could fire twice quite quickly.

I have a feeling the answer you wanted was 2) but 1) just can't be ignored.

37. Also, triggers are often
wired or welded together on "combat shotguns" with double barrels so that both barrels will fire at the same time.
With barrels cut to 14", the pattern from a double shot is devastating inside a crowded room. Definitely a close-quarters weapon, but very effective.

Pretty amazing this mope didn't perish himself, actually. I imagine he can 86 his dance-card at this point.

but taking himself out of the gene pool by self-correction ought to really count for something.

16. No. They do not. As long as you cannot reproduce anymore you can win one.
Near death/castration are only "honorable mentions."

19. Nope. The only requirement for a Darwin is that you remove yourself from the gene pool.
Once you have a kid, you are no longer eligible.

26. 12g shotgun has way more kinetic energy
In the world of guns, the AK-47 is actually classified as a low-medium power rifle. It has ballistics just shy of the famed .30-30, with a much lighter bullet at slightly higher velocity.

27. No, you really couldn't.
I'm assuming it must have been a "sawed off" double barrel...
and even if the shot didn't hit flesh, the muzzle blast would be
like a small incendiary grenade detonating in your underwear.

Contact-range third-degree burns all over the ol' twig-n-berries?

Hard to get much worse than that, IMHO.

22. An alumni of Big Dick's School of Shootin' The Wrong Movin' Target, perhaps?
I've got a mental image here...was he trying to conceal the shotgun barrel up, or did he squeeze off a couple rounds as he inserted it down his drawers?

Inquiring minds need to know.
