Dems Have An Opportunity: To Point Out That The Real Elitests Are The Rethugs
and McCain. Too bad we're so stupid that we're blowing it. For fucking decades we've let the pukes paint dem candidates as snotty elitests. Here we are in a crashing economy and we're still letting them get away with it. OK, Hillary's more concerned with her own survival. I get that, but where are the rest of them? We should be leaping at this opening to point out that repukes with their fat cat lobbyist love and their tax cuts, and complete lack of concern for poor, working class and middle class Americans are the true elitests. 527s should be running ads. Pelosi, Reid and Dean should be shouting it from the rooftops. C'mon, dems, get it together.

1. Aren't all politicians elitist by nature?
They have power over us, and all must be kept in check, if and when possible.

2. No. Do you actually think Bernie is an elitest?
Or Dennis? I don't think any of my Congressional reps are elitests, and none of them are fat cats.

4. I happen to dislike politicians by nature.
They have power, which can be misused, so I'm wary of them, whether I like them or not. (maybe it's just me)

6. Actually, I think a health distrust of the political class is a good thing
and I recognize that I'm fortunate to live in a state where every state legislator publishes their home phone, and constituents use that availability freely. I'm lucky to live in a place where big political money doesn't rule, and where people have access to their reps.

8. Of course - the RW are always the real elitists
Edited on Mon Apr-14-08 06:51 AM by LeftishBrit
One of the central points of being RW is favouring those in a strong position (mostly meaning the rich, but also the physically healthy; members of majority groups, etc.) over those in a weaker position (the poor, the ill, etc.) How they can have the nerve to accuse anyone else of elitism!
