Randi Back On The Air On Monday?
I was listening to our hometown Randi station 1290 WJNO and morning host (and a guy who helped get her from WIOD) Jim Edwards and the station manager were saying that even though RR was suspended indefinitely at AAR that THEY were seeing what they could do to get her back on the air on Monday. I think Randi quits Air America and I think she should. Who would want to work for an idiot like Mark Green anyway? Not me. BTW, have I said how much I hate the Clintons for doing this to Randi Rhodes? They have become the new McCarthyism-first David Schuster and now Rhodes-screw them screw Mark Green and screw Air America.

I will let you guys know what I find out on this end.

asking him if he could intervene in some way. He also loves Randi and is the state chair for the Obama campaign.

Everything is Clinton's fault. Just like Rush, all you do is snipe and hate..Randi was exactly the same way. Everything I despise about Rush and the Right wing, Randi and you Clinton haters embody. You are crude and hateful people..and if this is the change that Obama will bring to America, who needs it.....

is the guy sis who is always on Hardball opposite Ed Schultz-he is an unabashed Hillbot. It's not too hard to put 2 and 2 together. I hope she quits AAR. The other day she said she was moving back down here to Lake Worth (about a mile from where I live-we even buy our cigs at the same Hess) so I think she's prolly seriously considering getting away from working for somebody like Green. WJNO wants her back-MONDAY!!!

I don't think you will find a direct link
things like this are done by surrogates that cannot, if possible be linked. This was done by Larry Johson who leaked the tape.

THere is more, he has a list of targets at his site

And it does have a name...

Character assassination...and it is a well used and respected CIA tactic.

Now the only connecting thing is that Larry is openly a Clinton Supporter and they bragged on the website that they did it yesterday.

Now if he got sloppy enough or the campaign gets sloppy enough and this comes out... I will be surprised

11. The Situation Is Fluid...
Personally, I think Randi made an ass out of herself on this one...she could have expressed herself differently and made the same point. And I suspect this the suspension wasn't something that was an afterthought...she's been saying a lot of inflmatory things recently that surely made the Greens uncomfortable. The bottom line is its their network, their dime and they have they felt Rhodes had not just defamed Clinton but would embarass Democrats in general. I suspect we'll be seeing that YouTube video from now through November and beyond...spliced with Jeremiah Wright and the Dean Scream...fuel for the right wing hate mongers and their compliant corporate media toadies.

Sadly, Randi has become "radioactive". You rarely see her on TV as she all but disinvited her off of the cable networks with her rants about 9/11 and coming off as being very combative. It's sad since, as a broadcaster, I admire what she's accomplished and still enjoy listening to her. In many ways I think a "time out" for her is a good thing as she's really gotten wrapped up in the interparty games (like stepping into the GD-Pit) and losing focus of who the real enemies and threat to this country are. She crossed a line that was best kept private.

I suspect Randi and the Greens are talking and, if reasonable heads prevail, she will be back on the air and the network. Randi has to realize that a gig like she has is rare and that if she loses this platform, she'll be hard-pressed to find another. She's struggled too hard and too far to walk away from one of the few national podiums she herself worked so hard to build. And I expect the Greens, Clinton supporters or not, realize she can be a valauble voice in the bigger battles ahead.

If Randi quits, it'll be due to other issues, and I don't see the Greens firing her.

how long is that? I say she should quit and move back down here and if anybody wants to listen to her they can stream WJNO-I'll put up the links every day. I love Randi and I hate what they are doing to her. It was a fucking stand up act not a radio segment.

40. Whatever...

Yes, Rhodes could have used other words that would have gotten the point across but spoke before she thought. Someone with Randi's years behind a mike...on the air or off...should know where the line is and how to creep up but not over it.

I'm supporting Obama and have been critical of Camp Clinton, but I found what Randi said to be offensive and just throwing more poo where too much has been thrown already. As I said, a "time out" for her could be a good thing. She'd gotten too wrapped up in things lately.

No, the people who suspended Randi weren't Democrats, they were her bosses...the people who pay her check, and the ones who had to answer to all the compaints this tirade has generated...not just from Camp Clinton, but advertisers as well. Now if this tirade had been said by a Rushbo or Savage or Coultergiest, would you be so supportive? Randi screwed up...it happens to the best of us. Here's hoping she's back on the air next week and has cleared her head a bit and re-focus on who the real enemies are in this election and to our liberties.

I don't know what Randi had in mind, but we've played the media game together, so I don't worry about her. Her ambition has always been national, so this may have been a strategic move. And as she intends, I'll stay tuned.

for me this is almost personal-she's one of my heroes, like a teacher-like your favorite teacher you had growing up. I got to tell her that I love her one day on the road at a light and I've met a lot of famous people and that was right up there at the top of my list along with meeting Springsteen. I'm fighting mad about this-you all don't know some of the stuff she's had to put up with doing what she's doing. Death threats etc.

21. It is personal for me. I worked w/her producer for a while
But my favorite teacher ... that's a novella.

Randi loves her celebrity - I don't believe for a NY minute that she did this w/o a game plan. We've heard her plot for years ... how to beat 'em @ their own game.

She may have hit on something ... this is the most buzz she's ever gotten and @ a price she can afford. If so, brilliant.

I don't even consider what she said personally insulting. I refuse to be paid for all sorts of services and call it prostitution. For someone who plays "Bounce your Boobies" every Friday ... she can say whores. We disagree, as we have many times before - next caller.

32. You've got a point there, Fredda.
Randi has always been all about the business, and since I've known her she hasn't entered into any business relationship without being very specific about what she gets in return for her considerable talents.

I speculated the other day that she may have been trying to 'Lenny Bruce' her way out of AAR, and SoFlaJet's comments about her moving back to Florida may be a part of that.

If she feels the atmosphere has grown too restrictive at AAR, then she is probably looking at her next move. I can almost hear Nova M re-shuffling their lineup as I type this. :D

At any rate, here's wishing her a professional atmoshpere where she can continue to be her own amazing self. If that's not at AAR, it's their loss.

39. The day Randi came back on air after being in SF
she talked about using the "f" word and other profanity. She said something like she had decided to take those words out for a spin during her talk/performance and that she didn't usually use them in those venues.

I think that that is a true statement. I don't think she normally uses profanity when she is invited to speak.

This tends to support what you and others are saying about her intentionally causing pushing the limit to cause an uproar.

I love Randi and will continue to listen to her whereever she lands.

29. She talked about having an agreement with WJNO...
When she left to work in NYC, she talked about how she had an agreement that she could return to WJNO if things didn't work out with AAR. I don't know if Jim Edwards was the person who made the agreement with her. But it looks like he's working with her to keep her employed.

And didn't she say recently that she was moving back to Florida? A friend told me about that yesterday. I guessed that she would be broadcasting from there for AAR.
