How the Hell does a 22 year old on My Space get Pentagon Contract?
Edited on Fri Mar-28-08 11:13 AM by unapatriciated

A lengthy investigation published Thursday reveals that the Pentagon gave an inexperienced 22-year-old a $300 million contract to provide ammunition to Afghanistan. The shady deal resulted in decades old, substandard munitions being delivered to US and Afghan troops fighting on the front lines of the war on terror.

5. The same way Paul Bremer gave $500M to a Polish used car salesman
It's called the "Mother of all heists." The used car salesman was awarded an Iraqi weapons procurement contract and supplied some leftovers from the Russian army (most of which was rusted junk) before retiring in Paris with his half a billion...

7. Serious answers: In both cases, they are just a front men
The 22-year old was merely given a handsome reward to be the name on the deal. The same applies to our Polish used car salesman. The real scumbags are unknown except to the people with whom they made the deal.

So in your case they found a 22 year old who was foolish enough to lend his name in return for a cool million or so...

6. and how is this not the pugs Willie Horton?
of course, they have so, so many willie hortons to choose from, but still...

how could anyone with two brain cells to rub together contemplate even momentarily leaving the same cabal in charge of the executive branch?

We would do better to declare a hiring freeze and leave the presidency vacant after bush's term expires. Just shut it the fuck down, if that is what it took to get them out of there. Just de-fund not the occupation, but the entire government. Let the states be independent countries. Let the mercenaries go to work directly for the oil companies and do whatever mischief they want, but get the USofA out of the picture.

geez this eight years has been appalling.

8. Judging by the significant number of contracts the Pentagon has handed out
...that fail to meet even the laxest standards of due diligence, the only logical conclusion is that they aren't interested in winning the war on terror, but perpetuating it.

Even if my conclusion of their intent is wrong, the fact remains that that's exactly what they're doing.
