Can anyone top the hilarious irony in the acronym "CREEP"

That's GOT to be the most hilariously ironic acronym in history of the world.

For the younger people: CREEP is the Committee to Re Elect the President ...... Nixon's 2nd term campaign committee.

1. We thought it was bizarre during the Nixon reelection campaign

wondering why on earth would they ever name a reelection committee that. No doubt they did it on purpose. The question is why?

IIRC, this was the original name for the invasion. It was quickly scrubbed.

Nevertheless, it doesn't match up with CREEP.

10. My brother was offered a job in CREEP from Donald Segretti (SP?)

They were both stationed at Fort Ord and worked together. My brother felt that Nixon had to be elected or else there would be anarchy. He didn't take the offer though.
