State Department Inspector General
He decided -alone- that this was an innocent breach (3 times!) of Obama's passport files.

Here's a little info on him:

State Department Inspector General Accused of Multiple Cover-Ups
By Matt Renner
t r u t h o u t | Report

Wednesday 19 September 2007

The State Department's inspector general has allegedly interfered with and blocked numerous investigations into contracting fraud in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as probes related to domestic issues, according to several whistleblowers who provided detailed accounts of the widespread malfeasance to a Democratic congressman.

Congressman Henry Waxman (D-California), chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, sent a letter to Howard Krongard, the inspector general for the State Department, requesting his participation in a Congressional investigation into Krongard's work as inspector general.

The letter contained allegations of misconduct made by seven current and former members of Krongard's staff, including the assistant inspector general for investigations and his deputy, both of whom resigned after Krongard allegedly blocked and interfered with their investigations. According to the letter, the allegations have been backed up by emails given to the Committee.

3. update
He's since been canned, but he was the State Department IG when the first breach occurred.

After being accused of averting probes into contracting fraud in Iraq and a possible conflict of interest regarding investigations into Blackwater Worldwide, Krongard left his post on January 15, 2008, and was not eligible for retirement.

4. He resigned in January.
Howard J. "Cookie"<1> Krongard (born December 12, 1940), was a political appointee in the government of President George W. Bush. Krongard is head of the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of State. His position is known as the State Inspector General or State IG. After being accused of averting probes into contracting fraud in Iraq and a possible conflict of interest regarding investigations into Blackwater Worldwide, Krongard left his post on January 15, 2008, and was not eligible for retirement.<2>

8. The timing can't be coincedental..
It was reported on Countdown that the breaches occurred January, so I see a definite relationship between Obama's passport records and the IG resignation. Maybe he decided to actually do something and was impeded from above. At this point, I think it would be naive to think that forced firings occurred only at DOJ. It's time to tar and feather the whole lot!

13. No, he was forced to resign because he misled Congress in regard to investigating Blackwater.
His brother was on the board of Blackwater and he first said he didn't know, when it was proved that he did know.

I saw the hearing.
