ABC has hit a new low
Edited on Thu Mar-20-08 12:40 AM by Truth2Tell
So the press and the public finally gained access to Hillary Clinton's scheduling documents from her time in the White House today. Hip hip hooray!

Naturally everyone in our ever vigilant MSM set directly about the business of gleaning everything they could about the candidate's involvement in critical national security situations and crucial domestic policy discussions... right?

Well, everyone that is except ABC, who went straight for everyone's favorite story from the last millennium: Monica!

Check out today's spectacular groundbreaking work by Brain Ross and the comically named http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/story?id=4482242&page=1">"ABC NEWS INVESTIGATIVE UNIT":

Hillary Was in White House on 'Stained Blue Dress' Day

Schedules Reviewed by ABC Show Hillary May Have Been in the White House When the Fateful Act Was Committed

Hillary Clinton spent the night in the White House on the day her husband had oral sex with Monica Lewinsky, and may have actually been in the White House when it happened, according to records of her schedule released today by the National Archives.

An initial review by ABC News of the 17,481 pages of Sen. Hillary Clinton's schedule as first lady, released today by the National Archives, also finds significant gaps in time and many days containing only "private meetings" at the White House with unnamed individuals.

The public schedule for Sen. Clinton on Feb. 28, 1997, the day on which Lewinsky's infamous blue dress would become stained by the president, shows the first lady spent the morning and the night in the White House.

The Feb. 28 schedule lists her as attending four "drop-by" events, closed to the press, between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and then records her as staying in the White House overnight that fateful day.

As Glen Greenwald points out, we now have http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2008/03/19/ross/index.html">The Worst Sleaziest Press Corps Possible.

It just isn't possible for this country to have a more depraved and wretched press corps. After spending months haranguing Hillary Clinton to release her schedule as First Lady -- based on high-minded demands that open government is important -- this is what ABC News "investigative reporter" Brian Ross did with the documents today...

-snip

Brian Ross spent many days in October, 2001 screeching on every ABC News show he could get on that government tests showed that the anthrax sent to U.S. political and media figures was linked to Saddam Hussein's biological weapons program. That was a lie from the start; no tests ever revealed any such thing. His sources told him that because they wanted him to do just what he did -- create the perception in the public's mind that Iraq was behind the anthrax attacks. When that turned out to be false, he never retracted it, and, to this day, refuses to reveal who his sources were who fed him that extremely consequential lie.

Ross is, however, very much on top of sniffing out whether Hillary slept with Bill on the day he received oral sex from Monica Lewinksy. The minute he got his hands on Hillary's schedule today, he apparently crawled right over to that most special media day ever -- Stained Blue Dress Day -- and excitedly connected the dots. The byline on the story is "BRIAN ROSS and the ABC NEWS INVESTIGATIVE UNIT." It apparently took the entire ABC Investigative Journalist team to uncover this story. Given what an honest, law-abiding and open administration we have, it's not as though investigative journalists have anything else to do.

Now http://susiemadrak.com/2008/03/19/19/44/your-librul-media-7/">Suburban Guerrilla is recommending that folks contact Brian Ross and compliment him on his fantastic scoop (or otherwise share how you feel about his journalistic competence). I think that's a fine idea. So here:

Brian Ross Phone: 212-456-7612.

Brian Ross email: [email protected]

Please let him know how proud we all are. After all, we can never have enough Monica!

1. It's salacious
and gets people watching.

I actually saw a segment on Fox Noise this morning talking about the release of Hillary's date planner and how they will be able to see where she was the day Vince Foster died. :puke:

Fox never ceases to disappoint in its journalist integrity. :sarcasm:

2. My Email to Brian...
Brian,

I am so glad you are Johnny on the spot, on top of all the news that is fit to speak, so to speak. Boy howdy, I just bet you beat Rush and the gang on this one.

You know I had forgotten how much you aided the run up to the Iraqi war by reporting that the Anthrax attackers (still unsolved, Brian we really need your journalistic skills) used Saddam's weapons grade Anthrax. Boy you sure got that one wrong now didn't you. Anyway, you really must be proud, I bet your parents just are bursting with pride. You know what, I bet there'sa wing at the Edward R. Murrow Journalism School that has your name on it. Yea, you guessed it, the little boys room. You know Yellow Journalism and all. Ha Ha Ha.

Well, I have to get back to the real news, you know the stuff at the check out line over at the Supermarket. I am so glad ABC news is above that stuff. Oh wait...

I know you won't read this and I know you think I am just standing by as some anonymous internet guy. But hey, you can EMail me back. My name is William C. Green and I stand behind everything I say. In fact, I'll say it to your face if that would make you feel any better.

Ta Ta Brian. Thanks again for leveling off that Journalism field. No pointy headed intellectuals need apply.

4. ABC in the 2004 election
was doing all kinds of hits on Kerry ... the Swift boat crap .... and other things. ... Nightline with Ted Kopal(sp?) did some debunking but their news was pumping it as truth ..... and then we had ABC run Path to 9/11 hit piece.

When and if they ever do any checking on McCain I will be suprised.

6. It's the Wonderful World of Disney...
And I was silly enough to think that Steve Jobs would make a difference...

Silly me...

But we do have thinner notebooks to keep us occupied while the news division cranks this shit out...

8. That certainly is earth shattering news!
But I want the real details...with only 132 rooms and 55,000 square feet in the White House, how is it that Hillary missed it?

23. But that isn't the point
The MSM isn't accountable to anyone.
They slime anyone they want as long as it's profitable for them.

11. Which points out the REASON she's running
It's payback time from Bill to Hill.

Very reminiscent of the whole Bush2 presidency..

he wanted to clean up after dad's ouster & show him he could do it better...he didn't

she wants to go back to show everyone she's better than he was..

12. Forget the blue dress
I want to know more about the last few paragraphs of the article.

In December 2000, when both of Hillary Clinton's brothers were involved in trying to broker pardon arrangements for associates, several days of documents show only a long list of "private meetings" at the White House.

Between Dec. 1 and 22, Clinton had a total of 25 "private meetings" before the day on which a first round of pardons was announced by her husband.

The records do show Sen. Clinton twice meeting with Denise Rich at charity events in October and November 2000, at a time when Rich was seeking a pardon for her billionaire ex-husband, Marc Rich, who had fled the U.S. on tax charges. Clinton pardoned Rich in the last hours of his administration in January 2001.
