I see that DU is using Google for a search engine. Have we determined that
Google is one of the good guys? I thought I heard some time back, that they cooperated with the corporate fascist regime regarding making search data available. I don't have an evidence or links and would appreciate more info on this.

I think it is very important they we know the difference between freedom friendly corps and fascist corps. For example Qwest resisted the corp fascist regime demands to violate the Constitution while Verizon and ATT cooperated. Now Qwest is paying dearly. We need to support Qwest and shun ATT where we can.

I personally use ask.com for searches because they have askeraser that deletes search data a short time after you search. Even though I have nothing to hide I like all my search data erased.

17. Thanks. I was actually wondering if the Google box at the top right of the page
was replaceable by an "Ask.com" box. It apparently is not. Thanks for the reply. :hi:

2. Google cooperates with the Chinese government
They've turned over records that the Chinese government wanted and they've added filters the Chinese have demanded.

Google is NOT one of the good guys

18. Thinkin' at least half the info google gathers on our web habits is sold to corporations
for the purpose of honing their various marketing and sales.

Ever notice that sender names (cloned and fictitious) and words in (spam) email subject lines frequently mimics topics that are of interest to you and you have looked at online, and/or mimic people you do real email correspondence with? We have been monitoring this interesting trend for over 18 months now. It is happening with more frequency every month.

All for the giant corporations or any con artist willing to bring coin.... It isn't a democracy anymore and it sure as hell isn't America, where once there was a Constitution and rule of law protecting the privacy of citizens.

11. Looks like to me that this thread and your poll indicate one important thing.
Ambivalence is rampant here in DU. Doesn't seem many here care which corps support freedom and which support fascism. I am starting to get discouraged. I think the boiling frog is just about done.

I am guessing it's all about money. DU.com gets paid for every time someone uses that google search engine box.
