Our colonial asprations in the Balkans: The next war?
See Eucleians and Philomatheans Speak for a lowdown of what's really going on with Kosovar "independence."

Sample:

"Camp Bondsteel, the biggest 'from scratch' foreign US military base since the Vietnam War is near completion in the Yugoslav province of Kosovo. It is located close to vital oil pipelines and energy corridors presently under construction, such as the US sponsored Trans-Balkan oil pipeline. As a result defense contractors—in particular Halliburton Oil subsidiary Brown & Root Services—are making a fortune.

In June 1999, in the immediate aftermath of the bombing of Yugoslavia, US forces seized 1,000 acres of farmland in southeast Kosovo at Uresevic, near the Macedonian border, and began the construction of a camp.

Camp Bondsteel is known as the 'rand dame' in a network of US bases running both sides of the border between Kosovo and Macedonia. In less than three years it has been transformed from an encampment of tents to a self sufficient, high tech base-camp housing nearly 7,000 troops—three quarters of all the US troops stationed in Kosovo."

Pepe Escobar a Asia Times writes of Bondsteel:

"According to Chalmers Johnson in The Sorrows of Empire, 'army wags say facetiously that there are only two man-made objects that can be seen from outer space - the Great Wall of China and Camp Bondsteel'. Bondsteel will also double as Kosovo's Abu Ghraib - the largest prison in the independent entity, where prisoners can be held indefinitely without charges pressed and without defense attorneys. Taxi to the Dark Side, which has just won an Oscar for best documentary, applies not only to Bagram in Afghanistan but also to Bondsteel in Kosovo."

And why are we so interested in the Balkins? Well, it turns out Europe and the US are begining to have a voracious appitite for Natural Gas and guess who has his hand on that spigot? Well, Vlad the impaler" Putin, naturally, and Gazprom, run by Dimitri Medved, Putin's handpicked successor.

Lots of pipelines are going to be running right through the Balkins and he who runs the Balkins owns the pipelines.

See more on this here:

And don't forget about the al-qaeda connection to the KLA, whose former chief is now the Kosovar preident, the drugs coming from Afghanistan -- there's also a drug and human trafficking pipeline running right through Kosovo -- and you've got a steamng brew of all kinds of trouble.

Ask Obama and Hillary about why we're still in Kosovo 9 years later. Especially Hillary. Bubbah got us into that one.
