Ah, yes. The Reverend Jeremiah Wright.
Such a convenient drum to beat - given that they can't find anything substantial on Obama. So we whip the Reverend Wright. Reasonable, that!

So, lets.....

What exactly has the Reverend Jeremiah Wright said that is untrue?

Wright: We bombed Hiroshima, we bombed Nagasaki, and we nuked far more than the thousands in New York and the Pentagon and we never batted an eye. We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant?! Because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought back into our front yard? Americans chickens are coming home to roost.

What exactly is untrue about this? We didn't bomb Hiroshima? We didn't bomb Nagasaki? Sure we did. These bombings did not result in hundreds of thousands of deaths (so, yes, more than were killed on 9/11) by 'nuking' and the fall-out thereof ? Sure it did.
We do not support the terrorism of the State of Israel against the Palestinians? Of course, we do - unconditionally so. We have not supported the jailing of Nelson Mandela, have not supported the Apartheid regime in South Africa? Of course, we have.
Are we indignant now because what we have sown we now reap (all the Bible thumpers out there are familiar with this - it's right there in the good Book)? Sure, we are - outrage galore.
Is what we have dished out to other Nations via our policies, greed and arrogance, now being served back to us? Sure it is.
Has what went around now come around? Sure it has.

So, where did the Reverend lie? What about this is hate speech or racist? Is he to blame that America as a whole has a problem with the truth? Is it his fault that America cannot face her own shortcomings? Is it the Reverend's fault that America cannot face her own racist History which goes back to the very founding of this Nation? I think not.

Wright: Who cares about what a poor black man has to face every day in a country and a culture controlled by rich white people? Somebody missed that. You got nervous because we got some white members here. I am still in Bible country. I am still in the text. Jesus was a poor black man who lived in a country and who lived in a culture, that was controlled by rich white people! The Romans were rich. The Romans were Italians -- which means they were European, which means they were white -- and the Romans ran everything in Jesus' country. It just came to me with -- with -- within the past few weeks, y'all, why so many folk are hatin' on Barack Obama. He doesn't fit the model! He ain't white, he ain't rich, and he ain't privileged.

Hillary fits the mold. Europeans fit the mold! Giuliani fits the mold. Rich white men fit the mold. Hillary never had a cab whiz past her and not pick her up, because her skin was the wrong color.
Hillary never had to worry about being pulled over in her car as a black man driving in the wrong lane! I am sick of Negroes who just do not get it! Hillary was not a black boy raised in a single parent home; Barack was. Barack knows what it means to be a black man living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich white people! Hillary can never know that! Hillary ain't never been called a n....r. Hillary has never had her people defined as nonpersons. Hillary ain't had to work twice as hard just to get accepted by the rich white folk who run everything, or to get a passing grade when you know you are smarter than their C-students sitting in the White House.........................

Has Hillary ever been the victim of racism? Has she ever been called a N.....? Has she ever been a black boy/man? Does she know what it means to be Black and live in a Culture and Society that is dominated by the rich, white Elite (and it is)? Does she deal with discrimination because of skin color? Well, has she and does she? That would be a resounding, big, fat NO.

So, again, where has the Reverend uttered a lie?

Yea, let's stone the man for telling the truth!

5. Haven't you heard? Obama already said he disagreed with his statements.
The candidate disagrees, this is not about what we think of Wright.

7. well maybe...
It seems unlikely that Jesus was black. Considering his birth place, Jesus was most likely a lot like a modern Palestinian in his physical features. Why would that really matter though? Otherwise, the "facts" are close enough for me.

Reverend Wright is a hostile and racially centered bigot. Obama's ill advised decision to align himself with Wright may have played well when he was a Chicago politician, but a 20 year relationship with somebody like that, naming your book after a quote from that guy, calling him your mentor, that stuff is going to stick.

It doesn't look good, and it's not going to play well with AARP or Union Democrats. All we need to hear all year is "GODDAMN AMERICA" and "I'm tired of NIGROS, that just don't get it". Obama should have seen this coming and distanced himself last year.

8. Wow! from what I have seen on DU and the MSM, I thought,...
I was the only one that thought he was speaking the truth and being destroyed for it. Nice to know someone else thinks for themselve and ignores what the media tells them as the truth. Yeah he was preaching and sounded angry but shouldn't we be angry about what is taking place in our government? Too many people dismiss what he says and attack him because the media showed outrage and they all jumped on board so they could bash Obama...What he said isn't about Obama!
