Bush "Envious" Of Soldiers Serving "Romantic" Mission In Afghanistan
"I must say, I'm a little envious," Bush said.

"If I were slightly younger and not employed here,
I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the front lines of helping this young democracy succeed."

"It must be exciting for you ... in some ways romantic, in some ways, you know, confronting danger. You're really making history, and thanks," Bush said.

2. Why can't he just have Congress issuing a bill that says nobody over 39 can join the military
Then write a signing statement saying "Except George W. Bush"

I mean, if he were serious about it.

8. Yeah, really romantic getting your limbs blown off.
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 06:28 PM by tabasco
That fucking coward had daddy put him in the front of the line for a champagne unit, a unit that had a waiting list with hundreds of names! He deliberately and corruptly avoided just the possibility of seeing combat. I always wondered with all of the AWOL flap, why no one asked how George The Cowardly got to the front of that list. Of course, we all know the answer. The corporate media swept that story right under the rug with the DUIs, the failed businesses, and the cocaine years.

9. Hey George, didn't your doctor say you had the body of a 25 year old?
And the brain of a three year old?

No really, W, you're in good shape, you ought to sign up. Take the place of hubby's cousin's son over there.

14. War is "romantic"???? That's a bizarre choice of words.
I've always thought that Bush got his sexual gratification out of waging war, and it looks like he's taken even one step further. He thinks war is romantic.

The good news for GI George is that he will be officially unemployed within 10 months, and there are people older than him already serving and even dying in both Iraq and Afghanistan. I say lover boy should go pursue his romantic dream!

I suppose that to-the-death struggle to keep the Viet Cong out of Texas wasn't romantic enough for him.

What a chickenshit wetbrain waste of oxygen.

Can we send him there? Please please please?

26. Bust his ass to Private from Commander In Chief....
Tattoo 'Bring'em On' on his forehead, and ship him over there. He can go on patrol by himself, since he is so tough.

16. He must get his idea of romanicism from Kipling
On second thought, that would imply that the Frat Boy is literate, and we all know better than that.

21. Kippling got over it
He's a frat boy... nah I'd say he's read way too many BattleTech novels, and he thinks he is a Smoke Jaguar

(And for those who are not gamers... you'll miss the reference...)

But suffice it to say, he does believe there is honor and glory in war... and plays with the troops as if they were toy soldiers

If Prince Harry can do it, why not Jenna and Barbara?

23. I'll even be nice and let them attend the Point, or Annapolis
(as long as they serve in the Marines)

So they can serve as officers, just as Coronet Wales did after his years at Sandhurst

24. I am truly envious
That the US President has managed to excel in idiocy.

If he thinks colonial wars are romantic he should read Kipling

/Excerpt
The Grave of the Hundred Head

There's a widow in sleepy Chester
Who weeps for her only son;
There's a grave on the Pabeng River,
A grave that the Burmans shun,
And there's Subadar Prag Tewarri
Who tells how the work was done.

A Snider squibbed in the jungle,
Somebody laughed and fled,
And the men of the First Shikaris
Picked up their Subaltern dead,
With a big blue mark in his forehead
And the back blown out of his head.

27. He could join Blackwater and go on convoys in Afghanistan
Edited on Fri Mar-14-08 07:22 PM by aint_no_life_nowhere
He doesn't have to be in the military to engage in the romance of confronting danger, close up. Blackwater is in Afghanistan, too. Why doesn't he go there starting in January, 2009? And he could get all the heroin he craves.
