Talk radio vs blogoshpere, Round 2--Boortz is mocking that disabled child again PLEASE D.U. HIS POLL

Okay, so I've been raising hell about Neal Boortz mocking and ridiculing a disabled nine-year-old child. Maybe some of you assumed I'm a crackpot or a self-promoter. I wouldn't blame you.

Today, six days after his first attack on the child, he's still at it, and he's ripping me a new one as well. I'm sure he's googled the issue and found some of my DU posts...

Anyway, today he has a poll on his web site that basically accuses me and others who've criticized his sociopathic behavior of racism. The poll asks:

Would any of the people who emailed to complain about (and threaten!) Neal for making fun of 'lil Buford would (sic) have emailed if the kid had been black or hispanic?
1. Nope.
2. Yes, I think their problem was that he was a little kid, not that he was a little white kid

Amazingly, even though it's Boortz's web site and the reponders are Boortz's fans, here are the results:

1. Nope 55%
2. Yes... 45%

By the way, the little boy's name is Jordan. Boortz calls him "Lil Buford" as a way of mocking Jordan's Appalachian accent. Jordan also has a speech impediment and several other learning and developmental disabilities, including some severe emotional ones.

Why Boortz is doing this to a nine-year-old is beyond me, or any decent human being. He must expect that the controversy will increase his ratings.

Making money on the back of a child...does it get any lower than that?

I don't understand people who pick on those who are mentally handicapped. For fuck's sake, people, it's not like anybody asks to be born with any kind of handicap! But then, people mock things they fear and don't understand... :(

4. Why is Boortz bringing race into this? This issue was the child's disability.

As the mother of a child with a disability I have utter contempt for anyone low enough to ridicule people with a disability.

I'm glad Boortz got the boot from the local station here. I'm also glad that I was one of the people who wrote to that station urging them to can Boortz in favor of Thom Hartmann! I love listening to Thom.
