very cool.

now, can we get some more emoticons to represent a greater number of thoughts/feelings that so many of us have and share?

1. I just noticed that. Coincidentally someone posted an unrelated Google article after your post.

I'm gonna go try it out.

3. Wow. It works real well. Thanks, Elad and guys.
Too bad Google is taking over the world (brain) for nefarious purposes.

5. DU search engine sucks.
Well, it doesn't suck but the Google algorithm is much more effective and convenient (and thus they will take over the world).

Plus, it's just nice to see the efforts that go into improving DU (as opposed to, say, FR).

8. Just as figured, is twisted to be disinformation orientated
Try a search for "9/11 cut steel beam" and it will give links why the impossible happens instead of the logical explanation that thermite was being used or if thermite was the explanation than it was somehow being denied that it was a possibility. Now how does that happen in a random search where most traffic would make the other side more prolific

Here is an old thread that might still have some relevant information on it

9. I teach Digital Art and have been on DU a long time.

Believe me, I have no illusions about Google and the negative aspects of data mining and disinformation. I don't think we should get rid of the DU Search feature. Whether we keep the DU Google feature is a topic for discussion here. Google will continue to expand their control over world-wide information in as many directions in hopes of becoming Well's true World Brain, with all the Huxleyan and Orwellian implications.

Here's an alternative you can use as long as it lasts: www.scroogle.org

And here's food for thought: http://epic.makingithappen.co.uk/

That's www.scroogle.org NOT www.scroogle.com.
