1. I hope so, Bluebear.
It is illegal. They should all be prosecuted. Just like any politician on any side of the aisle who breaks a law. Whether I agree with that law or not. Apparently, from past history, Mr. Spitzer agreed with that law enough to prosecute it. All the numbers, however many there may be, should be prosecuted.

3. Wonder if they were prosecuting people for doing the same thing
they were as well?

His wife looks like an older, cranky, pissed off Jennifer Aniston (or however it's spelled).

8. No one has been prosecuted...the Prostitution ring operators were arrested.
They were the initial target.

9. Depends On What Laws Were Broken...
It's not the sex, it's the transportation that is the key here. It's a violation of the Mann act...one I'm sure Spitzer was very aware about. We can agree to disagree on if these laws are proper, but they're on the books, and as a public official he should be held to a higher standard in not only upholding those laws, but also being held accountable should he violate his public trust.

If there were other clients who broke similar laws as Spitzer did, yes, they should be proseucted as well...but as we saw in the Vitter case, the clients rarely get prosecuted for the sex...expect that the exposure of the name should do plenty of damage. Please...let's not start an IOKIYAD meme.
