House Files Contempt Lawsuit
By PETE YOST

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House Judiciary Committee has filed suit to force former White House Counsel Harriet Miers and White House chief of staff Joshua Bolten to provide information about the firing of U.S. attorneys.

The lawsuit filed in federal court Monday says Miers is not immune from the obligation to testify and both she and Bolten must identify all documents that are being withheld from Congress.
In a statement announcing the lawsuit, House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers said, "We will not allow the administration to steamroll Congress."

Conyers says he is confident the federal courts will agree that the Bush administration's claims to be immune from congressional oversight are at odds with constitutional principles.

2. How does this work when they refuse to testify once again?
Can they be arrested on the spot, or is this something that will eventually end up in the Supreme Court?

3. The Democrats need to quit playing games with these criminals.
They need to start impeachment proceedings immediately. That removes the "executive privilege" bullshit from the table.

And they need to handle Harriet and Josh with inherent contempt, which means they can send out the Sergeant of Arms to haul their sorry asses into the House, where they can be jailed.

Enough of the bullshit. Just do it. They need to send Bush a message that they are tired of all the crap, and they aren't going to play by his rules anymore. Anything less is just political posturing, done for the benefit of the masses, but with no real value.
