He stirred it up a little while back, and I haven't heard from him in some time now.

Hurry back, H2O Man.

21. he has earned our upmost respect and yet some disparaging comments have been thrown at him
I some the Dem leadership is aware of how divisive and contentious this primary is getting. I fear the party may break apart.

5. Maybe he is just out there replenishing his supply
so that he can come back and shower us with more of his unique insight.

Madokie, I doubt you remember, but we had a conversation quite a while back about my driving thru your area all the time to go visit my daughter who lived and taught in Austin. She has since moved back to MO, and now teaches in St. Louis area---much shorter drive for me living here in Springfield.

I am so happy to see we are on the same wavelength regarding our candidate.

7. I'm hoping his absence is not fueled by disgust with us here
I suggested long ago that if DU ever felt a need for a spokesman he would be the perfect candidate.
I remember our conversation and I must say I'm happy that you aren't having to drive through here anymore as the most dangerous times in most of our lives is when we are in our autos, couple that with a flat tire or a break down or any reason to be on the side of the road, even stopped using the cell phone.
My wife, even though she is none political, said it best when we were heading out of the house to go vote in our primary, I'm voting for Barack Obama because I think he still knows where he comes from, he hasn't forgot, he feels what we feel, he knows our pain.

Its good to know I'm in such good company :hi:

Have a great day

But I can see why a reasonable person would want to stay away from here for the net few months. I hope he'll return soon.

I would love to be on a tropical island sipping a whatever and forget there's an election going on and that I am addicted to DU.

Miss H2OMan. Come back soon, or as soon as it calms down.

23. Some thoughts .....
IMHO, or pure speculation that I may be pulling out of my arse here, but here I go ..... There are a few DU'ers I've noticed missing in action lately. Some of the most respected ones or 'talented' that post with insight the rest of us wish we had. Ya always see um on the Greatest page ..... and rightfully so.

Not that this pertains to any of them ..... but yea GD-Primary's scorched earth policy leaves EVERYONE open for vile, uncalled for, excruciating, and sometimes un-believable scrutiny ... so to speak. Everyone that's been in there knows what it's like. It's ridiculous, crazy, juvenile, on and on, right now on DU.

If Keith Olberman, Rachel Maddow, Howard Dean, Randi Rhodes, on and on, were members of DU .... I think they would be taking a time out too. Why even be here right now to just get shit on? These people are bigger than that. And so are many DU'ers with the heart and soul who've EARNED our respect over the last few years. Like I said these are just some thoughts going through my head as I've missed a few well known posters threads not popping up lately.

H2O Man ..... if your reading this, know your missed. We got your back along with the rest of you 'Lurkers' ..... that are mature and wise enough to stay above the fray. But like I said, I don't speak for anyone, just some thoughts.

ps: Samuel Peter is fighting tomorrow night H2O man, I miss your boxing thread in sports too! All the best. Peace. :)

25. I sure miss him and several others long timers as well
But I don't blame anyone for staying away lately. This place is nasty most of the time. And sadly it isn't trolls but mostly long time DUers who are obnoxiously, rudely and with nastiness supporting their candidate. But her entire campaign has been so nasty that it isn't surprising to see her supporters adopting that same type of behavior.
