NEW PORT RICHEY - Many lie when confronted with evidence they may have committed a crime.

But not everyone. snip

Shelton agreed to perform field-sobriety exercises - but gave up before the first test.

"Just call it a DUI man," he said. "You got me."

Inside the truck the trooper said he found two cold Bud Lights - one open - an empty bottle of Bacardi and a "green leafy substance."

Handcuffed, sitting in the back of the FHP cruiser, Shelton then asked: "Did you find my weed?"

6. Long ago, a friend of mine was pulled over.
As he braked to a stop, a pound of hash slid out from under his passenger's seat.

Cop picked it up and asked him just what in the hell he was doing with that much hash.

Friend replied, "Just trying to make a little money".

Possession with intent, nailed.

9. Of course it happened in Florida...
I grew up in Florida (Tampa), lived there until I was 25, and miss it still.

Back when I was a young adult, about age 20, a guy I grew up and was friends with, got busted for DUI and possession of speed while out of gas on the side of the road.

Florida used to have that tag line "the rules are different here"...and it was just too true!
