'Frankenfoods' Giant Monsanto Plays Bully Over Consumer Labeling

Since 1901, Monsanto has brought us Agent Orange, PCBs, Terminator seeds and recombined milk, among other infamous products. But it's currently obsessed with the milk, or, more importantly, the milk labels, particularly those that read "rBST-free" or "rBGH-free." It's not the "BST" or "BGH" that bothers them so much; after all, bovine somatrophin, also known as bovine growth hormone, isn't exactly what the company is known for. Which is to say, it's naturally occurring. No, the problem is the "r" denoting "recombined." There's nothing natural about it. In fact, the science is increasingly pointing to the possibility that recombined milk is -- surprise! -- not as good for you as the real thing.

"Consumption of dairy products from cows treated with rbGH raise a number of health issues," explained Michael Hansen, a senior scientist for Consumers Union. "That includes increased antibiotic resistance, due to use of antibiotics to treat mastitis and other health problems, as well as increased levels of IGF-1, which has been linked to a range of cancers." . . .

1. 2 reporters fired over their report on problems with Monsanto's rBGH
Investigative reporters Jane Akre and Steve Wilson were canned by their Fox TV station employer after they refused to bow to pressure from Monsanto and the station's management to water down their planned TV report on the serious health problems associated with Monsanto's rBGH. When they took the case to court under Florida's whistle blower legislation, they initially won a substantial settlement from the station for unfair dismissal. However, the case was overturned on appeal, the appeal court ruling that just because they worked for a TV station on a news program their employer was under no legal obligation not to provide false or misleading information to its viewers.

3. That video needs to be seen -- thanks for posting...
...There is simply no place for real investigative journalism/reporting in MSM any more.

2. Stop buying food at the grocery store,
At least your produce and meat if nothing else. Get to a farmers' market and get to know where your food comes from, who raises it and how. Get off the over prepared, over packaged food kick, go back to a more natural way of preparing food, from scratch.

Otherwise, you will continue to consume this crap that is killing you.
