Dennis Kucinich vs. Joe Klein
Dennis Kucinich needs donations to help keep his seat in Congress. This is from an email by Kucinich, sent by Progressive Democrats of America:

...I spoke out 140 times on the floor of the House to oppose the Iraq War and over 100 times in the media to explain that no credible evidence about the existence of WMDs had been produced. That the war was clearly illegal because it violated the U.N. Charter which is incorporated in the U.S. Constitution. In fact, I produced a thorough analysis disproving the WMD propaganda. Remember that I appeared on Meet the Press against Richard Perle, an administration defender, just before the war. I charged that the war was about oil. Perle responded that I had uttered “a lie, an out and out lie.”

The same day On Face the Nation, Time’s Joe Klein called me a “buffoon” for my anti-war and oil claims. Apparently their notes did not reach the desk of former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan who recently wrote: “I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: the Iraq War is largely about oil.” Nor did they ever read National Security Directive 54 written on Jan. 15, 1991 by our current president’s father. That NSD directive was sitting under my hand at the Meet the Press taping and started with the following: “Access to Persian Gulf oil and the security of key friendly states in the area are vital to U.S. national security.”

The congressional campaign phone number is 216 252-9000.

Thank you for responding,
Dennis Kucinich

3. He is one of the few if not only with a clean vote on Iraq.
Brought Impeachment to the floor for * AND Shooter. Has endorsed single payer health care for ALL of America. I would agree he is one of the few left standing. Peace, Kim

14. Yeah, You are Reading That Right
Kucinich has more integrity than most in Congress today and represents the party for what it's supposed to stand for.

7. Kucinich on ‘The Truth About Oil and Iraq’
And then he spoke about the draft Iraq Oil Law and accountability for this administration.

http://www.truthdig.com/eartotheground/item/20070523_kucinich_on_the_truth_about_oil_and_iraq/

"Posted on May 23, 2007

Congressman Dennis Kucinich commandeered the House floor for an hour Wednesday to discuss “in detail the Congressional and White House efforts to privatize the oil of Iraq.” Before he spoke, he announced the speech in a public e-mail. The talk is excerpted here.

Oil was the primary reason for the invasion of Iraq. There were, of course, no weapons of mass destruction, no connection between Iraq and 911, no connection between Iraq and Al Queda’s role in 911. Despite that the Bush-Cheney Administration, with the approval of a Democratic-controlled Senate and the Democratic leader of the House, supported and commenced a brutal campaign of shock and awe, of bombing, invasion and then occupation of Iraq.

Iraq may have as much as 300 billion barrels of oil untapped. With oil headed toward $70 a barrel, the oil wealth of Iraq could be worth as much as $21 trillion. Nearly 3,400 sons and daughters of America have been sacrificed. As many as 1,000,000 innocent Iraqi civilians have been killed in the course of the US occupation. The taxpayers of the United States will pay between one and two trillion dollars for this war, which is based on lies.
