1. There will likely be a contentious primary on the Republican side, which will leave the eventual GOP nominee's bank account empty after the primary. Voting in the general election starts one month after that primary. This puts their nominee in a serious disadvantage because they will have little money and little time to run a general election. The DCCC currently has an approximately 10-to-1 cash-on-hand advantage over the NRCC. Neither the state GOP nor the national GOP will be able to give full financial support to their eventual nominee.
