Is anybody else getting phony billing on their At&t bills?
It has

happened 3 times in the past year these companies add their fake charges to my phone bill. Sure At&t will take it off the bill, but what a hassle, and then they try to sell you satellite tv.

1. I got an upgrade fee of $20 on my bill. We extended our cell phone to two years so my wife could
get a new phone. We were told there would not be a charge only the cost of the new phone. What the hell is an upgrade fee?

2. Don't get me started!
A call from ATT offered us a plan to consolidate all of our phones, land-lines and cells (4 total) for a set price, guaranteed no fees. Every bill for the next six months had extra charges. Every month we called, and every month were assured the problem was solved. Six friggin months, probaly 4 hrs on the phone, to various persons, and finally they got it right! I monitor the bill with intense scrutiny every month. Credit card bills, too! If you don'r scrutinize your bills, I guarantee you are getting screwed over.

My bank is the only one that I haven't caught trying to insert some hidden fees, and that is a shocker, since most people say they do it, too!

3. Never, ever question AT&T.
I`m in MI too. They said my bill was recieved late, but I paid on-line, so I KNEW it wasn`t late(1 day late is what they were talking about). I argued with them for 2 days, the result. They cut my long distance and caller ID. They told me I would NEVER get it back. This a very true story and I ended up going with Comcast (my internet provider). I know this sounds unreal, but IT DID happen to me with AT&T.

4. I don't have
AT&T, I use Qwest and they are just as bad. Recently a friend got stranded in another city 60 miles away and called me two times collect from a pay phone. Not only did I have to pay for the calls but they added enough other fees to the calls that it more than doubled the cost. There was a CPE recovery fee, a dial around comp fee and a bill fee added to each call. I have NO CLUE what any of that shit is other than it cost me more.

6. OK, someone has to ask this
Knowing what you know about AT&T, WHY do you give them your business?

8. Yes
$9.99 monthly charges for a horoscope text service on my husband's phone. The number provided on the bill to call the texting service takes you directly to AT&T cell phone company!

After it happened 3 months in a row, I had them turn off texting on his phone. My husband swore he had nothing to do with it, and I believe him. He's not into horoscopes.

9. I know someone who works at a call center and shills for ATT
You have absolutely NO idea what a hellhole environment that job is.
I suggest daily that this person call the Wage and Hour board on them.
They get FIRED if they don't ask you to buy satellite TV (or other services)...and when you don't buy, they get screamed at and derided because THEY weren't good enough to sell it to you.:(
Basically, the bottom line is, ATT screws up, and then you never talk to them again--but you talk to the call center who handles ATT.
