Republican legislators in VA boo high school liberals group

"A group of students from Charlottesville and Albemarle County high schools didn't exactly experience southern hospitality when they visited the state Capitol yesterday.

During the House session, Del. David J. Toscano (D-Charlottesville) stood up to introduce the students, who were sitting in the gallery. But when Toscano said the students were members of the "Charlottesville Young Liberals" club, some GOP lawmakers started booing."

For a little more on this, check out http://blog.washingtonpost.com/virginiapolitics/

This is typical behavior from this crowd.

Hopefully, it's made a lasting impression on the high school students and inspired them even more to stand up for their beliefs.

2. Reprehensible behavior from the right-wing radicals.
The republican party is more like a cult than an American political party.

7. That's exactly how they look
Their aides later tried to excuse their behavior by saying they were "joking!"

Likely story...

8. If O'Reilly can call a teenager a pinhead, I guess "disrespect," is the ethical standard for them.

9. Is it really a good idea
to disrespect future voters in that way, especially voters who will be eligible to vote in a year or two?

10. Sounds like those young people learned a lot today
Yes, grown men and women booing teen-agers. You've chosen the right side of the aisle, young people. You should make fine adults as long as you don't turn out like the knuckle-draggers who booed you.

14. I have long since learned that adults can be as much, if not more, childish than children.
A few years ago we had a couple of families sue the county school board because graduation was being held in a mega church in front of a 25 foot cross. They sued to get it moved to a secular facility. The buddhist and atheist family did not win in time for the venue to be changed. When their children went up to get their diplomas, the parents booed. Not their classmates. The parents. I have long since given up hope that adults can rise above their petty grievances and recognize achievement for what it is. These legislators are reprehensible.
