1. I like what Obama has to say, too
He is also my tentative choice unless Gore runs. The idea that his candidacy would piss off bigots is not a driving factor in my choice. That's just gravy. :D

3. If Gore and Clark stay out, I'm going with Obama, too. He's further away from Bushes
than the Clintons are, and is way more likely to hold Bushes accountable for their crimes of office than the Clintons. In fact, Clintons have already proven that they will choose to PROTECT the Bush family over protecting the constitution and the American citizen.

No more Democratic administrations protecting Secrecy and Privilege of the Bush crime family.

15. I'm in full agreement.
they will choose to PROTECT the Bush family over protecting the constitution and the American citizen.

Unequivocally proven fact. I suppose we should expect this type of behavior from the "adopted" son of the BFEE. Amazing, isn't it? Honestly, it sickens me.

Looks like you'll be seeing a lot of me, blm. I'm not going to let this one go. Clinton's compliance saddled the American people with these war criminals. That's NOT ok with me.

16. Thanks, fooj, but be prepared for lots of personal attacks on you.
The Clinton people do NOT like that most simple fact to be discussed by CITIZEN Democrats loyal to the constitution and to our party. They rationalize the Clintons' protection of Poppy Bush and his crimes of office. They rationalize the Clintons' siding with Bush on his military decisions for 6 years. They rationalize Bill ACTIVELY working to publicly rehabilitate Poppy Bush's image.

18. Hey, who said speaking TRUTH was easy?
They can attack me until the sun ceases to rise and set. I will never stop speaking truth. Ever.

The American people have been had. It's that simple, imo.

9. au contraire . . . I think it's FAR from certain that he won't run . . .
because if he's planning to -- or even thinking about it -- he's playing it perfectly right now . . .

13. Might Not Be Certain, But It Is 99.9% Likely That He Isn't.
In fact, based on everything HE's said I can't think of a possible reason to surmise logically for a second that there's a thing that could possibly happen that would get him to want to jump back into this arena. Based on everything he's said himself, I'm under the impression that he's so disgusted with politics that jumping into the race would be the LAST thing he wants to do with his life right now.

We may not like that fact, but he's made it pretty damn clear in my opinion. Those holding onto hope that something will magically change do so foolishly and out of pure denial to the reality that it just ain't gonna happen, in my opinion. But since I would agree that he'd be a strong contender and someone we can be proud of if he did run, I guess I can understand why it's been really hard for some to let the concept go.

20. well, Gore certainly contradicted my "pure denial of reality" tonight . . .
no way he would have done that bit with Leo at the Oscars if he truly wasn't seriously considering entering the race . . . in fact, every time someone asks him about it, he says "I have no plans . . ." -- but he never says "I'm not running!" . . .

Gore knows that timing is everything, and he's playing this perfectly . . . as long as he's not an announced candidate, he's everyone's dream candidate -- and he can spend his time educating and inspiring rather than grubbing for money . . .

my hunch is that he'll announce in the fall . . .

8. I could easily support Obama. But there are
others I could support. I have made no decision yet because for me it is too early. There is much I have to learn about all of them. But I have been impressed with Richardson. And I really hadn't considered him until recently. I will not base my choice on race, gender or looks. I want a president who is capable, intelligent and will do right by this country. We are lucky to have good candidates. I like Al Gore, Hillary Clinton and absolutely still LOVE Howard Dean so it will be difficult. I know Dean is not running, but Oh! what a great president he would have made. Barring any "selection" voting machines I feel we can win. There is so much time left I am afraid some will burn out. The media will not help. Too much has been made of this "tiff" between Obama and Hillary Clinton thanks to the media and pundits.

12. His "lets all make nice" message leaves me cold. I want TRIALS for the whole bush cabal.
If a candidate won't stand up and promise that he/she will see to it that such a criminal gang will NEVER be able to subvert our government again, then I think they're worse than useless, they are enablers of a thoroughly corrupt system.

That being said, if Obama turns out to be the ONLY option for throwing a wrench into the Clinton/DLC/corporatist juggernaut, then I would feel forced to reluctantly support him.
