CONFIRMED: Over 1 Million Iraqi Citizens-KILLED-Violently By Bush Admin
January 2008 - Update on Iraqi Casualty Data

Further survey work undertaken by ORB, in association with its research partner IIACSS, confirms our earlier estimate that over 1,000,000 Iraqi citizens have died as a result of the conflict which started in 2003.

Following responses to ORB’s earlier work, which was based on survey work undertaken in primarily urban locations, we have conducted almost 600 additional interviews in rural communities. By and large the results are in line with the ‘urban results’ and we now estimate that the death toll between March 2003 and August 2007 is likely to have been of the order of 1,033,000. If one takes into account the margin of error associated with survey data of this nature then the estimated range is between 946,000 and 1,120,000.

Further information about the research, our calculations, questionnaire wording and data tables is available by clicking on the links below. Also available is an article providing background on IIACSS and its founding director Dr. Munqith Dagher.

3. So What? We've Become numb to tragedy and genocide...
What's become of this country? So many people murdered and killed.

We now torture people.

Is this the twilight zone?

I think it is, I need to pinch myself, wake up.

But I've tried that and all I end up with is pinch marks and a bigger sense of disenfranchisement.

As a teen I knew exactly how Holden Caufield felt and now that feeling is coming back...

7. But that's not part of the nightmare
In the nightmare, both men leave office to further increase their wealth by selling influence on even more government contracts, while more people continue to get injured and die, and we all get poorer.

we will, one day, have another repub controlled house. They will probably go on the same naming rampage they did for rayguns.

On edit- to think, we used to name school and airports and other things after great people- like JFK, Lincoln, Jefferson, Washington. Now we are reduced to Reagans and Bushs.

19. "OPERATION: PRANCING EAGLE!"
Named after the honorary title given to Bush by Native Americans.
However, they forgot to tell Bush one little detail:

A "Prancing Eagle" is a large mythical bird so full of sh*t it can no longer fly!

50. What?? Iraqis died in the '90's??
But a Democrat was president and our economy was booming and life was good and and and

Nothing kills a thread quicker than mentioning that the killing didn't start on January 20, 2001. Apparently people can't seem to remember anything that happened just a few years ago.

Hmmmmm, maybe it's all those pot smoking threads I've seen lately.

16. This administration is made up of
hucksters, liars, thieves and war criminals. We have democratic leaders running cover for them for reasons we may never know. This government is no longer a democracy...its organized crime...plain and simple. There is no hope for this nation...we are run by war criminals and thieves and there is no one to stop them. The only action that might bring about change is a popular uprising in which We The People occupy the white house grounds and demand the removal of the criminals including Pelosi and Reid. Short of this we are screwed.

For that matter, when all is said and done with the primaries, and the candidates square off in debate, will the Democratic candidate have the guts to counter the "Surge is Success" meme the Rethugs will spout by saying the price of this success is GENOCIDE?!

Busholini & his Regime have been directly responsible for a large number of Iraqi deaths & indirectly responsible for a large number but directly responsible for over a million is not correct.

39. this is more in keeping with what I thought were the
real numbers. I'd been hearing 600,000 but seriously thought that was too low because I'd head over a million some time ago. This makes a lot of sense paired with the articles stating that the Army encourages brutality and senseless killing of civilians. This stupid war has SO not been about bringing democracy or a better life to the Iraqis. Only about the oil and giving Halliburton and Blackwater no bid cost plus contracts. You know if the, Kennedys, had a curse you can sure as hell bet that the, Cheneys, and, Bushes, will have a curse over their families for generations. There has to be a karmic debt for this even if there seems there will never be any civil or criminal prosecution.

48. While I think this number is about right
It should be pointed out that the majority of deaths in Iraq appear to have been caused by either:

a) Other Iraqis
b) Foreign Jihaddists

America is no doubt responsible for many deaths and orchestrated this mess in the first place, but I honestly don't think the US military is doing the majority of the killing.
