No Oscar picks, but Bush has seen "Letters from Iwo Jima," "The Queen," "Last King of Scotland"
CNN: Friday, February 23, 2007
What are the president's Oscar picks?

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Oscar buzz surrounding Sunday night's main event has even reached the White House.

During the daily White House briefing Friday, spokesman Tony Fratto was asked if the president had any Oscar picks.

Fratto said he did not know President Bush's preferences, but noted of the Best Picture nominees the president had seen "The Queen" and "Letters from Iwo Jima."

Bush also enjoyed "The last King of Scotland," of which Forrest Whitaker is up for Best Actor, Fratto said.

1. But Shrub hasn't seen "An Inconvenient Truth"...
If he did, it would mean he would need to comment...

Best to not watch it...

7. I certainly couldn't see him "getting" Babel, though he sure does babble
incoherently frequently! We just saw Babel tonight - for us, it was the best movie we've seen this year.

9. Bet the wife booked them and Shrub
slept through them (if he went to the showing) knowing it would be a good press release and giving Laura athe hope that she was "educitating" him.

11. LOL, seen and understood are two different things when
it comes to bush. The following scenario comes to mind:

Rove: Boss, here is a list of movies to choose from

bush: Hmmm, Letters from Iwo Jima, geez, is our postal service THAT slow?

bush: The Queen? Is this a sequel to Alice in Wonderland? Never did unnerstand that book, The Pet Goat is still my favorite

bush: Last King of Scotland, hmmmm, geez turdblossom, I am tryin to be the first King of these United States, don't tell me about any last king, it's bad luck.

Rove: Okay, you read the titles so I can say you've seen them, good PR, trust me.
