First they came for the poor wishing to own a home, and when they came for the last of us there was

Folks, we are in the middle of a massive feeding frenzy by criminal elements that have totally subverted our nation. It is understandably tempting to try to make sense out of a situation where a feeding frenzy is being chummed with our own torn and rendered flesh, but there is no conventional common sensical or easy explanation for this complex and secretive situation.

One thing that is clear, however, is that the economically marginal people that have been taken advantage of in the home loan scam are not the authors of the scam. There is a great moral hazard confronting those who are justifiably proud about their own good sense and self-reliance and are consequently tempted to judge those less capable than themselves.

Classically, when the political culture of a dominant power is in rapid decline, on the model of the failure of the
Roman Republic, the "law" is subverted to support the designs of the criminals who are progressively parasitizing the dying society. At the ground level, the various scams that are perpetrated by the criminal elements currently in power (various crime syndicates do fight over the carrion feast and periodically replace each other) naturally have a superficial appearance of justice. That is how confidence games work. On the surface they seem to inspire confidence, but beneath the surface are something else entirely. Criminals do not preferentially prey on the strong.

In a period of collapse, like ours, wealth is concentrated to an extraordinary degree. This maldistribution of wealth and income is the direct cause of the decay.......

1. Honey, the only people who are paying attention
are the ones in the Edwards camp, they rest have been put in a trace by their rock star candidates.

I'm with Edwards to the end, and I hope to hell he wins, because if he doesn't, I might as well kill myself right then. A fast death is preferable to a long slow drawn out one. The rock stars could care less about what's happening to us.

2. Our society is so fucking broken, and
90% of our fellow citizens are just totally oblivious to is. We're headed over a Niagara Falls and far too few seem to give a damn. The MSM are doing all they can to keep them totally in the dark.

3. Of rock stars and trances

Most of the candidates in this race are false choices, and sadly, a lot of the people will probably fall for it and buy tickets to the hot concert of the moment. Or whatever it is these candidates are selling.

They all say, of course, that they're selling freedom, peace, prosperity. Luckily for us, all of them have a voting record we can check to see where they stood in the past. Unfortunately for them (and the country), there are some serious problems in the voting records of nearly every candidate on both sides of the poltical divide.

Now that Kucinich is out of the race, and Edwards predicted to be out after Super Tuesday (barring a miracle rally of support), it doesn't look hopeful for progressive Dems.

Where do we go from here?

4. When everyone wakes up to the ruse there must be a lower-class
to support a capitalistic system then they will get it. If not, we going to continue in a downward spiral and that base of lower-class will continue to grow.

5. There are plenty, even here, that cluck and look down and declare "you shouldn't have bought a house

in the first place" "you should have stuck to renting" "you brought it on yourself".. etc.

When I bought it, I could easily afford it. Even with variable APR.

That was before.

Before the economy took a dive.
Before I got laid off.
Before I broke my clavicle.
Before my wife left.
Before my motorcycle was stolen and my truck broke down.
Now, I'm facing some tough choices.
I've been through much worse and made it out just fine, I'm just not looking forward to that life again.

7. Wanna see exactly how the msm deals with this?
There was a big auction of foreclosed properties in my town yesterday. If you have the stomach for it, you can watch the video here: http://www.cbs8.com/index.php click on "San Diego Foreclosed Homes Go To Auction"

It's all about how cool the auction is, the glamor! The EXCITEMENT!! Guys wearing TUXES!!!11 Great DEALS! Houses for 60% off market value and all you need is a quarter million dollars in your pocket!! Anybody can do it!!

Not one word about the unfortunate people who lost their homes and the equity therein. And even less about how or why it happened.

But as one of the newspersons said, "getting those vacant houses occupied will improve the community."

"Now to our top story; it's raining!"

8. no one is talking about re-regulating the financial industry
since the good mba's in that industry cooked up the sub-prime market after the regulations were removed don't you think it would be a good idea to bring most of them back? wonder why I haven't heard a single "expert" "pundit' or alleged "political leader" mention this. as usual it's easier to blame the victims.
