Will repubs attempt to impeach the next D president?
They wouldn't do that would they? Start impeachment proceedings and practically shut down the government for two years to enact revenge on us for daring to even consider impeaching bush and cheney?

They're not THAT rotten are they?

1. Yes, they ARE that rotten, BUT
If they can't get a majority in the House Judiciary Committee
to vote for it, and then get the entire House to vote for it,
then it's not going to happen in the first place, any more than
we had a chance to impeach Bush while the Republicans held the
majority until 2007.

3. Be ready for the RW Outrage Apparatus to really ramp up operations
It won't matter who the eventual Democratic nominee is.

4. Not rotten...conscienceless authoritarians, what many would call evil
Of course they would impeach the next Democratic Emperor, I just don't think one will be allowed to assume the throne in the first place.

5. To impeach, they need a majority in the House
I don't think they'll get it.

11. They will have the cable networks in full "phony outrage" mode
about haircuts, sweaters, travel. .. etc etc etc until something seems to "stick" then they will steamroller the airwaves 23/7 until theythink they can get away with it.

20. Right after Nancy Pelosi took over as speaker..
there was some faux scandal about her flying her staff and family in U.S. government jets, then it turned out that Delay and Hasturd had done the same thing, and that it was a security issue.

12. The witch hunts will start immediately.
Well I guess it's more accurate to say they are already in progress: Hillary leaves exact change for 15% tip! Obama rhymes with Osama! Details at 11!

And yes, they're that rotten.

13. THAT rotten?
Of course they are! They're that rotten and much more. I'm not predicting an impeachment, but they're certainly capable of it. However, they might decide to change up their game. Talk of impeachment during every presidency is lessening it's effect... What I worry about is another assassination. I don't like saying that.

For impeachment to succeed, won't they need majorities in both houses of congress? Plus a blow job? Hopefully, we'll have clear majorities and they will be unable to go forward.

BUT, what will they try then? There's no crime they won't commit and no trick too dirty. That's how they do business.

They've been having orgasmic pleasure over being in power for so long. They won't just give it up.

16. We should certainly expect a re-run of 92-2000.
They will of course continue to have the eager support of the bullshit media system.

17. Not Without Control Of The House....
No control = no subpoena power. I know, I know...most here think its done little in addressing the crimes of this regime, but we're also looking at 6 years of one-party rule where a lot of shit went on under the table that we're just learning about Getting out most of this corruption will take long beyond the end of boooshie's squatting rights and with this regime out of power and unable to pardon itself we may then start to really find out how bad things were. Then lets see who wants to impeach what.

My hopes are to back bench the repugnicans like back in the 30s or in the mid 60s...force them to hold their "hearings" in the Capitol basement and relegate this corrupt party to irrelevance.

Right now we're watching the implosion of this morally and economically bankrupt party. Methinks they'll be too busy fighting among themselves to be much of a force to be like they were in the past. Sure they'll be a pain in our ass, but I suspect the biggest problems we'll have in the future is with those inside the Democratic party, not outside.

18. Hopefully they are weaker now.
bush has broken the Republican party just like he has broken the military, the Constitution, and America's reputation in the world. The number of people willing to admit to being Republicans is at a record low; the number claiming to be Democrats is at a record high. The Dems have much more campaign money. Dems are getting much higher primary election turnouts. Large majorities support the Dem position on every issue.

All the king's horses and all the king's men will never be able to put this rotten party back together any time soon, thank God. We should have a few years to regroup before the conservatives find some other vehicle to impose their unfair, un-American, unpopular "ideas" on our citizens.

19. 8:01AM 11/5/2008 ... U.S. House of Representatives ...
"I propose legislation to bring about the impeachment of, (um, which Dem won?) on charges of collaborating with terrorists, having sexual relations with something, stealing a bicycle, etc. ..."

President of the House: "Order ... order ... order. Mr. Lieberman, I don't believe you should even be making speeches here in the House ..."
