Candidate Pimping and Bashing on all forums has reached the levels of a Denial of Service Attack

At this point, I think most users of the Internet understand what a Denial of Service attack is, but I will explain for purposes of analogy.

In a DOS attack, a website is bombarded by huge number of messages (often from a large number of "zombie" machines that have had a virus planted in them). The targeted website grinds to a halt as it has to process all the incoming messages. The site doesn't necessarily "break", it just ceases to be accessible.

Given all the flames back and forth about Hill-bots, Obama-bots, campaign spam, etc,

HOW IS THE CURRENT SITUATION ON DU ANY DIFFERENT THAN A DOS ATTACK?

Where is the virus response team? Am I on my own? Do I have to label and ignore everyone of these zombie idiots and their toxic, inflammatory flame wars that just bog down the whole board?

There are an increasing number of posts about how disgusting the content has gotten in GD-P and more posts about how this sewage is spilling over into all the other boards. Does anyone care about the original purpose of DU anymore, or is this just 24/7 choose a candidate and fight?

Disgusted.

I think we would see a lot fewer 3rd grade stuff. And particularly the one-line baiting.

I get the feeling that many of those posts are bots or bot created identities.

for over a year. I know someone on the board and they said that a lot of political hacks are posting and junking the boards. I have said that before but got panned for it.

Folks have their own questions and concerns and are using the information they find to express and communicate those questions and concerns.

The title and the first paragraph seem to rebut my argument.

But, then, the last paragraph seems to be responding to someone else and defending the OP.
