5. Depends on who your candidate is.
If she's your candidate she did great. If Obama's your candidate she sucked. We see through the prism of our own bias.

12. She didn't hurt herself, she was able to refute and explain. The gamble
seems to have paid off. Now all candidates will have to take the same risk.

13. I thought it was awful to bring another candidate's votes into an answer
to a question that did not mention the candidate. Of course, with only one candidate on at a time, the one in the "hot seat" (if one can call it that) can fling whatever mud they want with no opportunity for a defense. Of course, Timmy didn't call her on it either.

She made comments that the UN is irrelevant, didn't deny funding this awful war even when she admitted that Bush hadn't handled it correctly, and ...whoops!...there's another slam on another candidate.

Jeez... they even brought Bill back into it.

And what good will a 90 day moratorium on foreclosures do??

14. I make it a point to tune out politicians and pundits immediately after their first lie.
Hillary lasted less than 15 seconds.

So, the only thing I can say is she lied once. I guess if you don't mind lying politicians, it's possible she did well.

15. She Handled Herself Amazingly Well. Anyone Answering Below Good Is Just Lying.
Edited on Sun Jan-13-08 11:51 AM by OPERATIONMINDCRIME
I think it's clear to anyone who watched it that she did really well. Obviously the people voting 'Bad' are doing so just out of malice towards her, rather than actually due to having used any objective critical thinking skills. Like her or not, she did a great job on MTP.

16. Voted bad not out of malice
But out of a strong desire to see this war end. She continues to vote for every funding bill, she voted to authorize it in the first place (and upholds her vote, even when she just admitted to Timmy that Bush didn't handle the power he was given appropriately), and would continue on into war with Iran. She made statements that belittle the UN which is about all there is left to check U.S. imperialism.

I didn't appreciate her turning this into a bash Obama fest when the questions didn't lead her there (and I'm NOT an Obama supporter...would have said the same about anyone bashing anyone).

That's why I voted bad. I don't like her answers and have not this entire campaign. It's not malice. I'd love to see her do well, but have not been impressed this entire campaign.

30. OMC's post accuses me of being a liar because I voted "less than good"
And you say I'm honest. Well, whatever. Guess I'm just an honest liar trying to end the war.

There was no stuttering or hesitation. She was very presidential

I'm sure other candidates and their minions are pissing themselves
over her amazing performance

19. Good
I thought she seemed somewhat defensive at the beginning of the interview, and the Obama attacks annoyed me a little - but then Russert's questions seemed to be aimed at creating a Clinton/Obama fight. She was at her best when she spoke about her plans for the country, her reasons for running, and her ability to get the job done. I love how HRC can just rattle off all this obscure information about all of these national issues - from the number of foreclosures to the exact cost of her health insurance plan. Such a contrast from Bush!

21. I was waiting for at least one truthful, straightforward answer. It never came.
I was trying to watch her with an open mind, but at some point, I was just shaking my head saying, "this is pure, unadulterated bullshit."

I could not find one truthful straightforward sentence in the interview.

22. She made Russert look petty and pathetic which, of course, he is.
Edited on Sun Jan-13-08 12:10 PM by Jim__
I thought the "interview" reflected more on Russert than on Clinton. He did not ask her one question about how she'd govern. The entire thing was russert's typical sequence of out of context quotes. The jackass actually tried to trip her up by quoting polls - duh - guess what Timmy.

She outclassed him.

Edited on Sun Jan-13-08 01:18 PM by Reciprocity
I can't remember one question to her about, what are you going to do if you are president and how are you going to pay for it. She was not able to go into any detail about her plans for the future. All he was after was sound bites.

29. He tried his best to trip her up.
But it seemed to me that she handed him his ass. Kept saying she wasn't going to let him get away with various statements he was making, and then proceeded with setting the record straight, according to her at least. I thought she really held her own and ended up looking like a leader.
