A poser's final words...Personally I wish none of this shit was going on.
Why? because we are distracted. If I had it my way...Hillary, Obama and Edwards would not be running. The fact that they are running blinds people to the fact that...WE MUST WIN. I don't want this to be a historical election for gender and race as much as I want it to be a 90 % voter turnout and a landslide of tsunami-ical proportions. I want the landslide to be so bad that the republicans feel like they need to be relocated to another continent. THAT BIG.

More than I want Obama, Edwards or Hillary to win I WANT A FUCKING DEMOCRAT TO WIN. I don't want any shit going on, I want the convention to scare the goddamned balls and titties of the republicans. I want them to lock themselves in their homes and put duct tape and plastic sheeting over their windows and doors and eat all the food they stored up for the coming terra-ists attack.

This election is big. BIGGER THAN BIG. There are Martians who want a Democrat to win. This shit is intergalactic.

A DEM MUST WIN. I want Hillary and Obama and all their supporters to be all about that.

GODDAMNIT A DEM MUST WIN!

So, if y'all wanna sit around here slinking monkey, meth-addled duck, and cow shit @ each other knock yourselves out. Perhaps you'll win the first ever Darwin award for the largest mass drowning in shit in earth's history.

I personally don't like wallowing shit. I like calling bullshit when I see it but, I don't like wallowing in it. So I'm goin away again.

When I come here I'm basically saying about 98% of my stuff with a sense of humor. I used to do stand up comedy back in the day so that is my thing. What I like about my point of view is that I haven't fooled myself about what is going on here.

DU is but a speck, on the ass of an amoeba on the back of a flea in the scheme of things. Y'all ain't doin shit but flinging it. People don't read DU and see some blinding light and realise the error of their ways and drop dead from our fucking wisdom. Mostly cuz when they read it they think we are fucking nutz. Truth is, most everyone has made up their minds, and those minds you may have the smallest chance of changing are not here.

8. Time for a break? It's brutal here right now...
Go do something positive for Democrats, then come back and tell us all how to do it! I'm serious! I've seen your frustration level rise, and I've been worried about you for a couple of weeks now. Rest up, then come back and kick some ass!

I'm 99.5% decided, but that only happened in the past couple of days. And honestly, the supporters of certain candidates have completely turned me off their choice! Dumbasses don't know when to quit.

Above all, take care...

And don't be gone long!

To me, you're a brilliant light here.

14. A microspeck.
And the bile and venom and spew here now are just astonishing.
Roseanne speaks up against Obama and she's just an old, fat,
has-been whore who can't sing. The examples of these attacks
are countless around here now.

There used to be a sense of community here, that we were all
on the same side and Bush and evil minions were the enemy, not
each other.

This place is exhausting now instead of being beneficial in
any way.

15. This one is ours to win ... or lose
Republican party is on the ropes, even republicans don't like it much.

I ask some Republican friends, "Hey, how 'bout that Prez?" and they shake their heads, he's damaged the party and the country so much.

I don't know how we can lose, unless we fail to unite behind whoever emerges from this maelstrom.

You're right about the miniscule influence of DU. Compared to Republican corruption, we're a gnat.

Lord knows I do everything my body will let me do to get DEMOCRATS to the polls - I'm all about getting people with special needs to a ballot and spend a lot of my time doing so - but I needs me some down time too.

If I wanna come in here and watch a little poo fly by and hopefully connect with a sane Democrat once and a while from a non freepy state can you blame me?

I hope you don't really leave. You have no earthly idea how much your humor helps me on a bad day.

Personally, I love the fact that DUers don't just toe the line and some are a little 'out there'. We don't pretend to agree, for agreement's sake, nor do we pretend to be whatever our party defines we 'should' be. Because, we are just normal, everyday, average, talented and flawed, Americans.

DU is one of the places that realistically reflects just truly how 'big' our tent is ... versus rhetorically 'big'.

We are confident enough to squabble, open minded enough to consider/reconsider (even when we don't readily admit it), feisty and diverse enough not to 'fit' into any regime.

Yeah, there are serious issues facing us -- but, without people willing to freely speak their peace/minds, democracy is little more than a convenient cover for a few justifying an agenda with or without our input/support. And, more importantly, we will never truly evolve without frank and wide-ranging, open discussion.

And, so, ever so often it's a little 'uncomfortable' or 'draining' - big deal, shut the PC off and go play with your SO/kids/dog/cat for a while.

Come back when you're refreshed and ready to 'go another round' - because I'll (and, I bet you, too) will take the occasional conflict/squabble, within a truly diverse democratic community, any day over fascism (see Free Republic as reference).

38. True dat
As a newbie I am constantly blamed (in a blanket statement talking about all newbies) for "all the recent negativity" and yet I feel that I have really contributed very little to it. (I won't say I've contributed none at all 'cause I like to be truthful whenever possible... best policy ya know). Some of the people who've been here the longest and post constantly are so abrasive that I've had to put them on ignore.

29. Xultar, please consider staying.
See, the truthiness hurts, it's starting to hurt some but I don't think DU has gotten enough truthiness.

You are one of the prime dishers out of truthiness, a tough act to follow.

I can sense your frustration and relate to it on many levels. But we have to persevere and overcome, I believe the DUers who don't have a clue will eventually get a clue, but we have to keep the truthiness out there so people can stay real.

So please, stick around and be one of the DU voices of reason.

(and if you go, I'll miss your avatar!)

33. we should stop arguing and vote Pet Rock (D) for Pres.
I really don't really care who wins the primaries, they are bound to be better than the "unique" offerings of the Rs.

I prefer Kucinich or Edwards, that's all. I have better things to do besides worry about who becomes the candidate- I am watching my 60 year-old husband slowly die of multiple organ failure.

You will get no flames from me except on healthcare, where I shall breathe fire...

But do come back! We need reality checks on a regular basis.

36. Even more importantly, we must undo decades of evil, and soon.
Whoever takes office must be a hero, and must do more, perhaps, than any president before ever has. I have serious doubts that Clinton, Obama or Edwards will do what must be done, but I know that none of the Republican candidates will lift a finger to halt or even slow our mad dash over the cliff.

A Democrat must win, sure, but that Democrat had then best get his or her happy ass to work, pronto. And most of the rest of us had better be rolling up our sleeves, too. We don't need a savior, but we need a real leader, and the will to keep poking Congress until they get off their well-fed behinds, too. We're gonna need the strength to say no to Big Money, and to silence its voice. It's no time for the faint-hearted.

But I think our candidates are all great and any one will be better than what the rethugs run.

But we need to pull together NOW and agree. And the attacks need to stop bc the other side will use our words against us.
