And I ask in earnest.

1. This isn't 2004
We're not choosing between lesser evils. This time we have a chance to pick a candidate who will do GOOD to our nation.

11. In some regards
It's always about choosing between lesser evils.

2. Wrong question.
The question should be, "Which candidate will do the most good for the nation?"

My choice of candidate is pretty obvious, though. :D

On Edit: I love that picture of Obama and his daughters!

6. No can do, larissa
I'm curious, for some odd reason, to hear what others felt were issues least of concern or which candidate is least flawed in their issues, personalities, et cetera as far as their impact on leading our nation.

:)

7. I believe with every fiber of my being that Hillary is more of the same

which is why I will fight her until I cannot fight anymore.

I believe Edwards--albeit flawed--carries the message that I want sent. We care about those less fortunate than ourselves. We care about rebuilding our cities that were destroyed by Katrina--and in so doing, rebuilding the lives of the survivors.

I honestly don't believe ANY of the candidates can give a fair assessment of the War in Iraq. Until they have a chance to view all of the documents, all of the intel, talk to the commanders on the ground, they cannot give an accurate withdrawal timetable.
I'm willing to be patient on that--but what I do want to know is that it will be their first priority to do an assessment and then give a timetable for withdrawal. I think a month is a fair enough time to do this.

NAFTA needs to go. Unions need to be strengthened. We need to sacrifice, as Americans, to make things better for our children and grandchildren. We have to give up this rampant Cheap Chinese Crap fixation that has swept over the country.
We have to be willing to pay for quality.
It is obscene that the CEO's make more money than every worker combined in their company before their feet hit the ground each morning.
I believe in rewarding success, but what is happening is obscene. These CEO's don't even have to do a good job anymore...they are all given golden parachutes while the average worker is given a golden shower.

We must have healthcare. I went back to school this last year because I care about this. I have a BSN and am minoring in Women's Studies/Sociocultural Anthropology and will continue to a Masters in Global Poverty/Human Rights. With this particular degree, hopefully I can help write legislation gearing us towards a single-payer health plan, if it has not happened before I can finish.

Women HAVE to be secure in their rights of privacy and the rights of their own reproduction. I am not secure that my daughters NOR my granddaughter will have the same access as I do right now. We cannot afford to digress back to the days of back alley butchers.
I fear that if things continue on the current path, that "The Handmaid's Tale" could very well become reality.

To borrow a phrase, I am not willing to go gently into the night.
And I honestly believe that Edwards is the man who can take us where we need to go.

8. Thanks, Horse with no Name
We have many similar concerns and thoughts on issues and I applaud you for your endeavors with your educational and future goals -- very impressive!

I'm drawn to Kucinich first, but, unfortunately, he doesn't seem a viable candidate. Of the viable candidates (I don't see Richardson as viable, either), of the things I've read, Edwards' flaws concern me the least (trial lawyer $, Hedge fund thingy, etc.). Obama and Clinton are tied for me as far as potentially doing the most harm, both having more flaws than I am willing, at least in the primaries, to stomach.

9. Thank you.
Kucinich was my first choice. However, I was a little perplexed about him throwing his support towards Obama.
I believe he did it to try to squeeze Edwards out. That bothered me because I felt Edwards was really the only other choice in the race for true lefties.
