John stood out in last night's debate with his strong, passionate calls for change. But don't take my word for it -- here's what people are saying:

George Stephanopoulous (ABC): "Edwards showed passion and vitality and energy tonight. He was on-message. He had a strategy tonight. I think this was one of his best debates."

DailyKos: "Edwards probably had the best performance of the night. He came across as passionate, and was more energetic than the other candidates. With the debate closing on economic issues, he was able to play his populist card to great effect and dominate the closing minutes of the debate."

AmericaBlog.com: "Edwards is really unparalleled when it comes to connecting policies with people. I certainly find it very effective."

Rick Klein (ABC): "Edwards may have turned in the strongest pure performance."

Matthew Yglesias (The Atlantic Monthly): "John Edwards gave a fantastic answer about the need to combine short-term effects with a long-term commitment to 'rid the world of nuclear weapons' as part of a broad push to revitalize the non-proliferation framework."

New Hampshire Presidential Watch: "The press center is eating-up John Edwards' attack on the status quo."

David Schuster (MSNBC): "I thought the guy who stood out the most was John Edwards. Last night Edwards, who does not take money from corporate interests or PACs, hammered that issue again and again."

Rick Klein (ABC): "John Edwards comes back to his message again and again, in an effective way. If a debate could vault him back into the game, he may be having that very debate."

Chuck Todd (NBC): "Edwards, by the way, had a very good night."

Your contribution today will help John build on this great debate performance and carry his message of fighting for the middle class all across this country!

Thanks for your support.

P.S. Please take a moment to look at one of the highlights from last night's debate and see why members of the media are raving about John's performance:

On Edit: Let's keep this kicked so fellow Edwards supporters get to see it!
I'm so glad to share good news from the media for once!!

3. I'm glad Edwards is staying in the race...
For the record, I'll be happy with him or Obama- I'm glad he is still in the game and adding to the debate...

11. I'm glad he is getting the recognition he deserves. Thanks
for posting this. I saw him this morning on George Stephanopouolous. He was very clear about his intentions. The lawyers who were donating money to him now, will not be allowed to lobby at the White House. But I love the big smile on John's face when the interview wraped up. Very telling, John knows that the media can't ignore him.

15. If the amount of MSM coverage BO & HRC received AND Edwards' coverage were reversed...
... Edwards would be way ahead at this point.

Edwards has definitely struck a chord with the voters to be drawing the crowds and support he has received thus far.

20. The Edwards campaign
has set the narrative for the other Democratic candidates. The grip of corporate greed will wring the life out of any democracy.
The Republican narrative is a disjointed, convoluted cacophony of blather and bullshit wrapped around sound and fury signifying nothing.

24. Edwards should talk about the real issues
Edited on Mon Jan-07-08 02:50 PM by mac2
which concern us not just the two levels of wealth. The loss of wealth by America period has been the robbery of our treasury.

http://www.truthout.org/cgi-bin/artman/exec/view.cgi/58/18523 Yes the biggest robbery in history yet there is no call for impeachment.

25. felt like could be gamechanger, but Obama built up a head of steam
the 1/5-6 polls are challenging, Edwards may still peel votes from both Obama and Hillary from the debate making a near three way tie or vault Edwards to a strong and very surprising second.
Today's Iran suspicious "provocation" news may also jolt the electorate, we'll see.

26. I think Obama is taking
Edwards talking points for his own. Edwards should talk about what he wants and how he is going to do it. Never mind tag teaming with Obama. I am sick of slogans and sound bites get on with the meat and potatoes please. I still say Hillary doesn't need a penis to be viable. No matter what you say.
