Bill clintons administration actually did achieve some successes, particularly in the economic field. One or two social issues. He did this inspite of a Heavily republican, and highly antagonistic congress. Now I am the last to want to build an altar to him, but democrats who bash that admisitration for the sole reason they are trying to get at Hillary is not just sbsurd, its suicidal. How in the world are you going to persuade a kajoprity of voters to vote Democratic when you yourself bash the only Democratic president in the past 27 years?

Find another way to stop you're arch enemy Hillary, otherwise you aren't risking the election any more, you have lost it!

1. I've posted a Joan Didion piece that argued in his favor today, however,

I feel I did a poor job framing her thesis.

You can be sure she does NOT do a poor job framing her thesis, and I recommend the post to political junkies who enjoy an articulate behind-the-scenes writer's look at national politics -- Didion delivers.

She ridicules Kenneth Starr and the horse he rode in on, as well as the rightwing punditocracy generally and Ann Coulter especially.

2. It's like this. The past is the past - I want to move on. A lot of Democrats want to move on.

No trashing from me; I love Bill Clinton and have great nostalgia for his successes, however I would not vote for Hillary because he comes along for the ride.

I want significant sweeping change in this country, not a rehash of the past.

3. It's still important to learn from the past. B. Clinton learned from J. Carter.
Clinton avoided some of the problems that Carter had. Carter had terrible foreign policy problems while Clinton was more proactive. Carter had an even better Democratic congress but still had legislative problems. Clearly legislative success is mandatory for a new Democratic president to overturn the corporate fascism that currently exists.

Americans really want the new president to make changes so that Americans can control their own lives rather than corporations and oil companies. The idea of government intrusion isn't the boogey man it once was because corporations filled the void left by the republican dream of a government vacuum. Our candidates are careful to not open the door to the old rEpublican't bromide about government solving all of our problems. YET who will push back against the corporations? The Mormons?
