They actually try to smuggle tobacco into the prison system! Not only are they human, they are PRISONERS! Which means YOU are BETTER than THEY are! Just think what terrible things could happen if those on death row were allowed to smoke!

If you are different than they are, please ignore this message. Buy stock in taser.

Until reminded. 'm going to the SciFi channel now, thanks.

6. We should support the Biblical principle of An Eye For An Eye
Of course if we did that the entire prison industry would crash (along with a host of supporting suppliers). Millions would be out of work and there would be untold effects on the economy. But at least those nasty criminals would be out of the way. :sarcasm:

10. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't that imperative -- taken in context...
actually call for an adjustment of punishment such that it should fit the crime (and not necessarily retribution)?

11. Technically.
But since when has the average person actually taken the Bible in context rather than spun it to fit their own needs and desires? ;-)

You do recall what Susan B. Anthony said, no?

13. This
I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do, because I notice it always coincides with their own desires.

14. Much like the George Bernard Shaw quote....
"No man ever believes that the Bible means what it says: He is always convinced that it says what he means."

15. I'd rather watch "Lockup" than ANYTHING on FOX
Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 10:03 PM by Hawaii Hiker
Actually, I find those shows rather interesting...The guy who use to host it, John Siegnthaler would be a MUCH better anchor than Brian Williams...

(Siegnthaler use to anchor NBC Nightly news on weekends until this past April)..

17. I hate those shows
It's like they're softening us up to the concept of a gulag.

I also find it extremely offensive that they use these people as 'entertainment' for the masses.
