#3. Senator Clinton: Solid, well-delivered, gracious, upbeat and optimistic. A damned good speech all around.

#2. Senator Edwards: A full-fledged BOOMER of a speech, "We are better than this" and "We know the torch has been passed," just magnificent.

#1. Senator Obama: Ridiculous. Raised the roof three whole feet off the building. You gotta be kidding me. Epic.

Kudos, Iowa. They heard 60+ days worth of versions of these speeches tonight, and judged accordingly and properly.

1. I read it as a JFK type speech after a JFK "It our generation's turn" type

campaign that worked well to get the age 17 to 29 vote.

O speaks very well and indeed has a touch of what I remember as JFK's blood stiring ability. The youth responded and indeed provided his margin.

I wish he was not the most conservative of Edwards/Hill/Obama and did not depend on indies - but perhaps after he wins NH and SC he will carry the day without indies in the 2/5 contests.
