"Myths" according to Fox News.
Edited on Sat Dec-29-07 10:20 AM by GOPBasher
Fox news listed the following "myths" that need to be corrected by the only *real* news source: themselves! (I'm at a relative's home who watches FOX News; I don't have a choice here.)

1) The economy is tanking.
That's a myth according to Fox News. Yay! I'm so happy. I guess things are just fine and dandy.

2) Free health care is great.
Oh, the taxes are too high that way. And, of course, the health care crisis is not so bad. Did you know, according to the super-reliable source of information, FOX News themselves, that only 8 million people in the US don't have health insurance! All the other sources are wrong because they're all liberally biased!

3) People are losing their homes.
I'm so glad they got this liberal myth under control: everyone knows that no one is losing their homes at all. Things are just wonderful out there.

4) There is no disagreement on Global Warming in the scientific community.
Well, here I actually agree on a small point -- there is disagreement, but only insomuch as just how bad it is and what we should do about it.

1. FOX "News" is a Myth
And Americans are beginning to realize it as evidenced by their shrinking ratings..

4. That's heartening.
I didn't know their ratings are decreasing. That's very encouraging, actually.

8. Deceptive Numbers
Even at their best, Faux Noise was viewed by 2 million people at a given time and about 5 million on a given week. Now think about that in comparison with the U.S. population of 300 million. Their ratings paled in comparison with other cable channels like ESPN and MTV and the major networks, no matter how flawed, still reach 10 times the number of eyes and ears every night than Faux does.

Their ratings really haven't decreased in the last year...but it hasn't grown, and that's just as important. This network now preaches to a more divided and confused audience. Their 15 minutes have faded and the myth of "Fair and Balanced" not only has been debunked but is joke material for millions of us.

2. The only RW'ers who might disagree with FAUX's analysis are those
who lost their jobs to outsourcing while dealing with an extended illness which generated bills that couldn't be paid and eventually caused them to lose their homes to foreclosure which still had extensive damage from the after effects of a tornado in January in the deep South.

The rest are blissfully ignorant.

3. Sometimes not even they see the lies.
I know a die-hard right-winger who lost is job, is on unemployment, and still swears that conservatism and FOX News are great. Talk about morons.

7. Can someone file a class action suit against them or something?
The defame and make false statements about large groups of people.

My uncle, who is a veteran and loyal Faux watcher, made the following statement recently which just has me reeling:

Bush doesn't get the credit he deserves for the good economy. After all, we all wouldn't be in such debt if the economy wasn't so good!

OMFG. He was serious. I couldn't believe it. Still can't wrap my brain around how he can think a nation's debt is indicative of a healthy economy.

He's part of the loyal 25%.

Back to Faux - they spew such blatant lies and propaganda: can't anything LEGALLY be done, even to simply raise awareness if not actual legal remedies?

13. WTF indeed. I'm in complete agreement with both of you...
Like I said, I can't even begin to wrap my brain around how "they" think (the 25%-ers).

Faux is like their meth or something. Geesh. To me, it's scary shit.
