Military Evangelism Deeper, Wider Than First Thought. by Jason Leopold
For US Army soldiers entering basic training at Fort Jackson Army base in Columbia, South Carolina, accepting Jesus Christ as their personal savior appears to be as much a part of the nine-week regimen as the vigorous physical and mental exercises the troops must endure.

That's the message directed at Fort Jackson soldiers, some of whom appear in photographs in government issued fatigues, holding rifles in one hand, and Bibles in their other hand.

Frank Bussey, director of Military Ministry at Fort Jackson, has been telling soldiers at Fort Jackson that "government authorities, police and the military = God's Ministers,"

Bussey's teachings from the "God's Basic Training" Bible study guide he authored says US troops have "two primary responsibilities": "to praise those who do right" and "to punish those who do evil - "God's servant, an angel of wrath." Bussey's teachings directed at Fort Jackson soldiers were housed on the Military Ministry at Fort Jackson web site. Late Wednesday, the web site was taken down without explanation. Bussey did not return calls for comment. The web site text, however, can still be viewed in an archived format.

1. Well, George called his invasion a "crusade" way back when.
The faithful perhaps haven't yet realised it's a crusade to maintain power and staggering wealth for a few here on Earth.

3. Well, it is an all volunteer military.
It's only logical certain types of people are going gravitate to it.

7. I wouldn't piss on Leopold
if he was on Fire.. Because I would not believe him.

He's never apologised for REPORTING that Rove was Indicted...

Fruitcake, just in time for Chistmas.

8. I'll ask for his apology
when all the truth comes out about what happened during Fitzpatrick's investigation. We don't know what went on behind closed doors in the grand jury investigation, we don't know what deals were struck.

Until then, I reserve judgement and am glad Leopold had the guts to keep reporting on the story.

10. He was proven wrong repeatedly
and for people to pretend that Leopold KNEW what was happening behind closed doors is ridiculous, his articles were so wrong about so many things that went on, even more so in retrospect, as to be as laughable.

Business hours? You honestly believe that Rove IS Indicted at thus moment, and has been the whole time?

Oh please :)

9. Isn't TruthOut.org the outfit that still stands by the discredited story that
Karl Rove was gong to be indicted in "24 business hours?"

11. unfortunatly because they stuck with Leoplds rants
they're no longer considered a News service by Google as I understand it, Yahoo dropped them about the same time I think... Too bad, his BS "reach" for a fake scoop cost a fine website, and many good reporters..

A bad egg leaves stink on everyone..

12. What ever you think of Leopold, the subject of the article is documented.
I've read about Weinstein before but googled MRFF.

14. Thank you, Weinstein is fabulous
Thats the problem when people "conscript" others work, and I'm being kind using that word..

Thanks for the True link, much appreciated :)

16. How 'fine' can the website be if they are standing by Leopold's story and
continue to publish his work?

19. I apologize and offer a complete and total Retraction
Which is more than I can say for some sites :)

Read the page too quickly..

I created a set of DVDs called "Rove's War" which explained with correct media clips exactly why it was Rove's War, and the whole Plame Affair - took me. Year of research so I knew and know a LOT about the Subject, when Leopold speculated far into Bizarro Land and I and others called him on it, the site and he only kept making up more and more Strange Excuses..

One Retraction would have kept them from being dumped as a News Site on huge Portals...

To this day I still cannot comprehend the stubborness despite being Proven WRONG on many, many occasions..

He just made shit up and hoped it would come True, but other statements were flatly Impossible on their face.

I could actually forgive the site if they finally retracted, apologised, but Leopold? Never. He thrives on misinformation, look him up on the web.. "drugs" made him do it, uh huh...

Thanks for pointing that out, Holidays got me too busy to make finer points, and check refs...

17. I'm tellin' you all they're just itching for the rapture! They're ready to bring it on!!
Why wont it just come . Take the bunch of them off to some cloud some where so the rest of us can get on with the rest of our lives. Then we can try to work on fixing this world rather than fix-ate-ing on the next!

Christ did not mean for his followers to hasten the end of the world or to relish in it's demise. He was offering a caution and a note of hope to those who had nothing by stating that material things where not as important as the things of the "soul" or "heart" and that things like love, responsibility, honor and other immaterial things where the "real" things that made you who you were and they were the things you carried with you through eternity.

The whole message has been corrupted. But what's new in that.

Most of the world's preachers ran out of God's words along time ago, and have been ad-libing ever since. A little pirating of the good stuff Jesus wrote, mixed in with the classics (the acceptable ones) from Jewish Scriptures, a lot of ad-lib, driven by media savvy money begging social smile rs and walla - neocon evangelical Christians. And they take credit cards too.!

I'd consign to oblivion any link to a story by Jason Leopold or Doug Madsen. They've both burned us repeatedly.
