Hukabee was just on CNN doing a cute joke about Cross in Ad/...Sounded like Reagan

What's odd about the Cross over Huckabee's shoulder in his ad about Christmas (along with three glass balls which could signify the "Holy Trinity" is that I haven't seen anything on DU about it. Yet Scarborough's show talked about the "cross" in the background along with Brian Williams this a.m. and the MSCables have been running with it all day.

Did this "cross" get put together by the Right Wing Blogs...sort of a disinformation distraction they thought would get blamed on us Lefty Blogs? IOWD's is the "cross in the ad" flap manufactured to give Huckabee's base a reason to defend him and the Whore Corporate Press a chance to focus on his "charming sense of humor?"

The answer he gave about the cross flap was straight out of Reagan's handbook. And, they sure could run Huckabee as a charming doofus like Reagan. Their hope was that Fred Thompson might stand in Reagan's shoes but he is a loser.

It's something we might all watch out for in how this "Cross Flap" is being played out in the media. :shrug: just my 2 cents.

The one that smote down his opponents with a "charming jab." I saw that glimmer in Huckabee tonight.

It doesn't matter to the Repugs that one of his kids stoned a dog and slit it's throat before they did it. Look at Bush II...and how the media covered up for him.

I'm not saying Huckabee will win with this new Reagan Thingy...but said...it needs "watching" by us Dems.

4. Huckabee is as gifted a speaker as Clinton

for much the same reason. His tone and pacing of his words, combined with the way he uses his face while speaking (this is subtle and you probable don't notice it unless you're looking for it) make him a really great speaker, probably the best of the GOP field.

What I mean by the way he uses his face is, watch what his eyebrows, mouth, chin, jowels, and brow are doing when he speaks. It seems their all in constant, subtle movement.

Doing that conveys warmth and honesty.

Contrast that with the way Romney looks when he speaks - like a granite rock. Nothing moves. Which conveys coldness and distrust.

Kerry suffered from the same facial structure while speaking that Romney does.
Clinton (Bill) had the same traits as Huckabee does.

Just something to keep in mind.

Thanks for your post. They will re-package Huckabee's son as a SAINT for putting a Mangy Dog out of it's misery at a campground. It will be re-packaged like Cheney gets off for shooting "penned birds."

By the time we are finished Huckabee will be the NEW REAGAN and the Dems will be running after his coat tails leaving us on the Progressive Side...under the bug again.


We need to watch Huckabee and the Spin About Him....that's what I'm saying. He is Ohhhh so Charming....

Yeah, that cross in the background is maybe a cross and maybe it's just a window frame. It's hard to tell. But it's sending a subliminal message. Remember the GOP campaign against the prescription drug proposal by then VP Al Gore? It had the word "rats" that flashed on the screen for maybe 2 or 3 frames, not enough time to really see it but it was there. I find it incredible that the media would not catch that and not stop the ad from running. And there was Bush's use of brief 911 images in the background in his 2004 campaign ads.

Just deal with the Ad and if you are "tech savvy" then skip through it to get to about 3/4 through to where he talks about his "Jesus/Cross" Speech. The whole thing is worth a listen, though. We Dems need to be VERY AWARE of Huckabee. His name makes us scoff ...but he's "charming" like a snake.
