1. I wonder if it is some sort of indication of the state of mind of someone who can laugh so
openly and whole-heartedly.....A certain kind of openness and clarity, if you get my drift.

3. Indeed
there is a huge and vast difference between Bill Clinton's laugh, which is (was) in part a laugh at himself, which showed some modicum of modesty, and the cackle of Dickwad Cheney and Bush's purely vicious chuckle. A WORLD of difference in how they see themselves and how they relate to others. I like Jon Stewart imitating Cheney as sort of the Penguin from Batman--same ruthlessness, same lack of conscience.
