Question on War funding: How much is going to private contractors?
Never mind that we will probably never know where the disappeared billions went under Bremer, I am wondering how much will still disappear into the shady night shadows of the private contractors in Iraq. The talking point is about supporting the troops, but do we know how much of the funding actually goes to THEM? How would one go about finding out how the money is distributed?
2. Almost all in the final analysis, but up front about 50%
I saw the number somewhere last week. About half of what we spend goes to immediate contractors working in theater or directly in support to units there. However if you then look back to the supplies and services that otherwise backup the military, just about all of that is contracted out too, just at a routine level that goes mostly unnoticed.
I was talking to a couple of marines a few nights ago- they were cautious about what they said, but seemed relieved that someone knew about what was actually going on. The military is quite aware of the inequities between the private contractor salaries and there own.
5. With the way the Pentagon keeps it's books. I believe just a whole
lot of the money is going to the corrupt people running the Pentagon. They lost a trillion dollars a couple of years ago - LOST IT!!! How do you even lose that much money without having a clue where it went?
