The big question you hear right now if you cover politics for a living — and thus no one thinks you’re really good for talking about more interesting things, like, say, the celebrity version of “The Apprentice” — is just what’s happening to Hillary Rodham Clinton. A month ago Washington had moved on to speculating about her running mate (my guess if she wins Iowa: Tom Vilsack); now she’s in a three-way tie in Iowa and losing her lead in New Hampshire faster than Mitt Romney changes positions. Is she seriously in danger of coming undone? Is she still in command of the race? There is an appropriately Clintonian way to answer these questions, which is yes to both.
