Accused 'Bonnie And Clyde' Of ID Theft Could Face Federal Charges

POSTED and UPDATED: 6:06 pm EST December 7, 2007

The young couple dubbed the "Bonnie and Clyde" of ID theft both posted bail
on Thursday and headed back to their home states.

Thief's Edward Anderton and Jocelyn Kirsch

But there is more bad news for the couple. It appears they're the focus of multiple federal
investigations as well. Drexel University senior Jocelyn Kirsch, 22, didn't say a word on
Thursday. In fact, she didn't even show her face
-- a far cry from the way the public's
seen her in pictures taken when she was apparently living the high life with 25-year-old
boyfriend and Penn graduate, Edward Anderton.

Police said they estimate the duo raked in about $100,000 by stealing the identities of their
condo neighbors to pay for a lavish lifestyle. They know of at least five victims so far, one
of whom was taken for $30,000, authorities said.

The modern day Bonnie and Clyde won't go out in a hail of bullets like in the movies.
Instead Kirsch and Anderton could be peppered with a slew of federal charges. In addition
to the FBI's investigation, NBC 10 has learned, the United States Postal Inspection Service
has launched an investigation as well. Agents there said they are focusing on the keys
recovered from the couple's swanky Rittenhouse Square apartment.

Postal agents said some of the keys opened many individual apartment mailboxes.

Federal sources said U.S. Attorney Pat Meehan is also forging ahead with his own investigation.

But the U.S. Attorney's Office is not commenting. However, federal sources said the pair could
face nearly a dozen charges that could put them in jail for a long time.

DADDY SENT RICH-KID 'ID THIEF' NEW BREASTS

http://www.nypost.com/seven/12072007/news/nationalnews/daddy_sent_rich_kid_id_thief_new_breasts_309808.htm

By MATTHEW NESTEL and NOAH COHEN in Philadelphia and CHUCK BENNETT in NY

SHAPE-SHIFTER: Jocelyn Kirsch is a young woman of many faces:
preppy student, busted suspect and busty alleged con artist.

December 7, 2007 --

Accused rich-kid scam artist Jocelyn Kirsch was so bent on altering her appearance
even her father helped out - by buying her silicone breast implants one Christmas.

Friends and enemies of the 22-year-old Drexel University senior - who allegedly stole
her neighbors' identities to finance a jet-set lifestyle with her Ivy League grad
boyfriend Edward K. Anderton - said the buxom brunette was never comfortable with just
being herself.

Kirsch would often give herself makeovers, cut her hair, switch up her clothing style
and even pluck her eyebrows differently as she tried different scams, sources said.

A major overhaul came when her doctor dad sent a pair of silicone breasts to her dorm
room as a Christmas gift in 2003 with a promise to implant them, college pal Sallie Cook
told the Philadelphia Daily News.

While refusing to entertain questions about his little girl's devious lifestyle, Dr. Lee
Kirsch told The Post yesterday, "We're very disappointed with our daughter and we feel
very badly for anyone who may have been taken advantage of by this situation."
